Being Thabo would be fine too, and that is not a bad thing. Thabo is a disruptive force and key part of that OKC team and its success over the last five years. People have to realize that we arent going to have 5-6 guys averaging 15 ppg+ and making allstar teams.
Deng plays Great defense. They have two different types of games. Harris plays more like Carmelo as he is mroe offense than defense. I think Harris could average more points and boards than Deng mainly because he is on the Magic.

Playing out of position for 32 games in college (even assuming he was ALWAYS out of position at all times) out of your basketball lifetime at the end of the day does not mean anything in terms of actual basketball ability/basic skills are.
Your basketball skillset is built/developed in the gym, not during games, it is built by practicing and actually putting the time in. At the end of the day, it was 32 games out of his life. His coach using him at C/PF etc during a 1155 minutes stretch, is NOT the reason he is a poor shooter, dribbler and/or passer. These skills have been developing from the 1st time he decided to pick up a basketball, just like everybody else. 2 months of shooting corner 3s in a practice gym cannot beat out 10 years of habits and tendencies.
I swear too many people act like skills are points handed out by position like this is a video game. These guys have been playing basketball in most cases since they were children.

Ridicluous. A huge portion of their development happens on the court. You cant sub. on court experience with practice. If thats the case then why is everyone so eager to move our vets? They keep saying its so he can develop but using your flawed logic thats not the case. Also players dont develop at the same rate and the end result isnt always the same. Some guys ceiling is hire than another, some players hit a wall, then continue getting better.

Nope. Oladipo and Harkless are going to improve as ball handlers, defenders, shooters, playing against better talent in real game situations. Sorry.Neon1 wrote:Blue_and_Whte wrote:Neon1 wrote:

On court Development YES. As in learning how to play with teamates how to adjust, decision making, executing under game time pressure etc, Basketball IQ, Etc...
Developing your actual basketball SKILLS? Hell. No. These are two totally different things. What people are talking about is his SKILL LEVEL.

JJ Redick must have too.
Udonis must have hit his prime at 20 before he bounced around the D-League and Europe. What about Ben Wallace who was undrafted and played D-League?
Seriously, do people actually think that only 20 year olds can be developed in the NBA?

Its not just the age. The point is that players develop physical skill sets as their careers progress. Sefelosha and Ariza for example developed an outside shot which they didnt have coming into the league.
