Our window has shut after 1 game? That's interesting.

No, your window shut after you lost in 2011 and Rose went down in 2012. Deng is a shell of what he once was and your bench mob is gone. I think the Bulls are pretty clearly the 4th best team in the East behind Miami, Indiana, and Brooklyn.

You conclude Deng is a shell of what he was after 1 game? Relax. There's a whole season to go. I don't think it's even close to being clear that the Bulls are the 4th best team in the east. Too many assumptions are being made from 1 game.

He didn't say that and no one should think that. I don't condone what he said, but a fellow Bulls poster actually said this:

lol @ people saying this year is our best chance at the championship. That chance was gone when the bench mob was broken up.

It basically echo's what Slot Machine said. But they are just opinions.

edit : and another Bulls poster

This isn't just "1 game", the Bulls best chance against the Heat was 2011 and they got backdoor swept in 5 games.

That bench wasn't going to help us win, even though our bench right now is a question mark. It's a long season. The Bulls are a better team than what they showed last night.

It was the continual huffing up the Bulls that was so annoying.

For one, Kerr won titles with the Bulls. Second, everyone knows about the Heat: nothing changed since last year and they won the title. Kerr still had nothing bad to say about them though. Considering it was the first game and the Bulls had more changes to discuss, most notably about Derrick Rose returning, it made sense for the broadcast team to inform their audience about them. They are one of the best teams in the league even though Miami is the best so it's not like they don't deserve to be talked up. Most nights, they'll back it up.

Edit to add: the moment the broadcast team starts focusing on how bad team is as you seem to have wanted from them here, they make their audience question why they're even watching the game. It's in their best interest to talk up both teams so the audience stays tuned in or even comes back to see one of those teams at a later date. They're a national broadcast, not a homeriffic local crew.

I didn't think anything Kerr said about the Bulls was over-the-top, and I didn't think the coverage was inappropriately tiled to Chicago. It was a fine broadcast for national television.

I've been watching watching the NBA since the mid-1970's. I'm fully aware of Kerr's career. Even if I wasn't, it would be hard to miss since there ample references to it during broadcasts. And everyone is aware that it was Rose's return. And I didn't disagree with the post I originally replied to.

They should have had Kerr with the Laker-Clipper game and Miller do this one. I never said he should have been raping the team, just not gush in awe on pedestrian plays. I find it annoying, no matter who does it. He wasn't Stacy King, but he wasn't as balance as you think IMHO.

Agreed and if there's a critical comment then that's fine too, we're the defending back-to-back champs after all, having negative attention is better than having none at all.

@aquaadverse: Overall I'd take Kerr over Miller any day. Miller talks too much bulls*** all game long, even if he gets hyped about our team sometimes.

First small part of the mission accomplished.

Finally we are ready to embark on our mission towards the 3-peat.

They still doubt us, they doubt Wade, they belittle Bron's achievements, they hate on our team, and they still will fight tooth to nail to dethrone us. I believe this will be our best season yet, they can try to get physical, trash talk our players but in the end nothing cleanses like the champagne bath!

And finally my Heat brethren tonight we will be presented with the "Statement game" on our way to another long journey.

Where did I conclude that? I think it'd be helpful for you to try to follow along. Deng's metrics have slipped defensively over the past couple of years, and his offensive game has fallen off drastically from 2011 as well. His efficiency and raw scoring has slipped. Nowhere did I mention my assumption being based off one game.

I'm also not making my assumption that the Bulls are 4th in the East off 1 game. I thought that before the game started. I think the Bulls will finish with the 2nd best record in the regular season but I think Indiana and Brooklyn are far more dangerous teams. Like I said, try to keep up before giving me inane replies about 'it's only one game' when none of the things I've said are based off of last night's game.

Deng had an injured wrist the past 2 seasons and I'm not one to look into statistics that much. He'll be fine with Rose this season being the number 1 option again. Maybe you should try and keep up. Indiana is a good team, but I think the Nets are overrated. We beat them with our reserves in game 7 basically. We'll see how it goes though. No chance the Nets are better, but it's close with Indiana. Lots of basketball to be played.

Deng has sucked the past two years, why wouldn't his wrist have healed by now? His numbers were bad with Rose in the lineup in 2012 anyway. His offensive game isn't there anymore and his defense is highly overrated at this point.

The Nets are pretty much a completely different team as compared to last year, not sure how that even matters.

Sucked the past 2 years, but made the all-star game? He looked fine in pre-season. I suspect he'll be better this season than last season(unless he becomes selfish and guns for it, in a contract year). He's not a number 1 option and that was asked of him. He'll be fine with Rose again.

Yeah, the Nets added KG, Pierce and Terry. All 3 are past it. Don't really think they're a threat.

Yes...it was an undeserved all star appearance. Curry wasn't an all star last year. I really hope you don't think all-star appearances are that accurate in determining the best players. He averaged around .5 more shots w/o Rose, him being the "#1 option" isn't why his numbers dropped. He's just not that good on offense.

Okay, so you had an issue with me saying the Bulls weren't a threat, yet you say the same thing about another team. Great logic.

The Bulls are not a treat, we are a bad match up for them. I know there are many Rose fans and they want to Rose to be a big foe to the Heat soooo bad. Rose is as much of a treat to us as Reggie Miller was to the MJ chicago bulls.

Games over... move on. Our ring ceremony thread has been polluted by Bulls fans trying to prove something, that's a bit sad.

Kerr wasn't annoying last night because the Bulls weren't winning. He's annoying even more when they are up.

You're acting like his numbers dropped significantly. It was a slight dip.

Because the Nets aren't a threat.... Lol. They added 3 washed-up players and suddenly they're a threat? Get outta here.

Return to Miami Heat
