I get that this could be setting up Wiggings for failure but stars rise above that and if he's meant to be a star, he will rise above it. I don't like him being compared to LBJ though. They should just promote him as a potential star, the top player in his class and a Canadian.
Regardless of it being on TSN2 as well, this is pretty damn significant in terms of development of Basketball in Canada. I mean you have a national sports network now airing college basketball, highlighting a Canadian kid to the entire country. No matter how he does, another generation of kids could be hooked on basketball by this. I've also noticed since Bell/Rogers bought the Leafs/Raptors, that Raptors promos have been making their way on to some of the other networks as well. I've never seen as many Raptors commercials, quality commercials hyping the team on CityTV.
As much as I'm still uncertain about the Bell/Rogers partnership, the access the Raptors have to get promotion on other networks is hughe now.
This could be the beginning of a lot of things lining up for the Raptors over the next decade or so.
