I can see him not going #1 because the reviews have been so bad so far... He's being portrayed as all athleticism and no skill at this point...
But I don't see him falling out of the top 5, and I don't see us being able to get into the top 5 with what we have either.
But I agree that if he shows any kind of ability this season, the Hype is going to be tremendous, and he'll most likely be a top 3 pick... He'd basically have to get injured right now to fall out of the top 5 or 10.

The NBA would disband if we continue to struggle and end up in the lottery and then win the top pick. I'd love it, but no Laker fan would be able to post anywhere but the Lakers board for at least a year.

If Wiggins drops, it'll be because someone like Randle or Parker outplays him not through any fault of his own.

I don't know if I'd say that... He can hurt his stock just as easily off the court as he can on. Obviously if he shows he can't live up the hype in college by not playing well or being uncoachable, his stock will drop... But if he has personality or public issues, his stock will also drop. Hype can help you but it can also bite you in the ass...

So not a fan of the small ball backcourt that we're running. Its gonna be a SG scoring fest on us all season long if we're gonna start Meeks or Blake at the SG. Their offensive output wont cover for the defensive liability IMO. Also I like to add Farmar is the best PG we have on the roster and is young its time to start that guy. Dont care how i hear Nash or Blake has to start without Kobe cuz to me thats nonsense both of those guys at this point arent scoring threats or even threats to attack the rim. Its time to accept this.

But if you'd told me we'd split those 1st 2 games this season i'd take that. Lets see how this game goes Friday

Being uncoachable won't be Wiggins' problem. I was curious about all the Wiggins hype and did a little research into the guy last night, nothing big just checked Wiki etc. and the kid is religious to the point he was considering going to BYU so he doesn't seem like a troublemaker.

As far as our team being bad enough to get a top 5 pick I think with a little luck of the bouncing ping pong balls we could easily get a top five pick this year. We're going to win between 15 and 20 games so I doubt we'll be the worst team in the league but we'll be close. I'm banking on Kobe not being able to come back and play out of his mind. If he proves me wrong and can still put up 26 points a game with a reasonable shooting percentage then we'll probably win between 24-30 games and be out of the Wiggins race altogether.

Also re: Wiggins. I don't think he'll put up crazy numbers his freshman year as he doesn't seem like a selfish player. NBA GM's are too smart to let that affect their decision making. Well ok most GM's are too smart, there's a few dummies around the league.

The league is a very perimeter oriented league these days and our team has almost zero ability to defend the perimeter with Blake and Nash on the court. Teams are going to feast on us from the outside all year long.

I'd even move Shawne Williams to the bench.

Kaman
Gasol
Johnson
Henry
Farmar

is the best possible starting line up for now.

Hill
Williams
Streaky P
Meeks
Blake

would be fine off the bench in limited minutes.

I would put Gasol as a center and Kaman as the stretch four. or vice versa. They both definitely have a good midrange jumper going for them.

Here's my opinion on the way the starting lineup should go at this current time

Farmar
Henry
Young
Hill
Pau

Biggest reason is foot speed, a rim protector and rebounding need to be in that starting lineup. Pau so far this season is refusing to protect the rim. I like to add Jordan Hill seems to have gotten out of his funk. And if this doesnt work out it kinda tells us Jordan Hill at best is a backup Center in the NBA which isnt a bad thing. In that case we'd just start Kaman alongside Pau. But we need Hill grit and toughness in that starting lineup. Cause at this time were getting killed at the SG and PF positions
