Yeah, i can see that happening. Once knight and Ridnour are back, or even just Ridnour for that matter, i dont see nate getting any PT unless we are gettin blown out. Sad reality.

I like his composure. He made some mistakes early and was thrown into a tough situation, but by the end of the game I felt comfortable with him out there running the point for the most part. He seemed in control, wasn't flustered at all, etc. Far from perfect obviously, but an encouraging debut I thought.

Highlights from his debut for people (like me) who missed the game.

That said, his ceiling is Steve Blake.

I'm gonna step out on a ledge and make the biracial comparison. I say he could be Andre Miller at his ceiling.

Andre Miller was one of the best PGs in the league for a very long time. I'll be very happy the day we get a guy with that kind of telent.

I really loved watching Andre Miller through his career, very under appreciated player.

That being said, Wolters is a young version of Luke Ridnour. The similarities are striking. And no, not just because he is a White Guy LOL.

He has very large advantage over Blake being 2 inches taller and 25 pounds heavier when entering the NBA.

Nate is a pretty big guy for an NBA PG at 6-3.5 barefoot, 196. He's actually a 1/4 inch taller than Mayo, for example. He's 2 inches taller than Knight. His arms are pathetically short, but he still has the type of frame to very likely carry 205 or so without any problems.

When your game is predicated on intelligence, a slick handle, and your overall skill, having a big frame like that is a huge advantage compared to lightweights like Blake or Zeusnour who max out at like 175.

Wolters future is going to be determined by how deadly of a shooter he can become both off the bounce and spotting up (throw in floaters as well), and how well he becomes at running an NBA pick and roll.

Would you trade Wolters for Jimmer?

Great question. Not as good as Michael Redd for Joe Johnson, but still good.

I don't know. But I know that neither guy is going to move the needle.

Why did you say eponymous there?

Would you? Fredette will be a FA after the year. Kings just declined his option.

Nope. I actually like Wolters. My ceiling for him is a trickier two S's two L's.

True. Unless the poster's name he is referring to is Steve Blake that post makes no sense.

This write up on Wolters is interesting and it definitely highlights the difference between him and some one like Ridnour.

In addition to his excellent all-around perimeter shooting, Wolters is a dangerous scorer inside the 3-point arc. The Summit League Player of the Year shot 53.2% from 2-point range last season, combining his jump-shooting with good hands around the basket. Wolters is not a great athlete by NBA standards, but shows good touch at the rim and with his floater. He can attempt a floater from either side of the court and has good range on it, which helps him get good looks at the basket off without much interference from rotating interior defenders. Wolters embraces contact at the rim, which only adds to the intrigue of his transition into the NBA. He attempted .37 free throws per possession, good for fourth among NBA prospects in DraftExpress' database, and shot his free throws at an 82.4% clip. His ability to get to the line helped make him one of the most efficient scoring point guards in the NCAA last season.

Trickier than Cassell huh? That's a tall order. I think he's a better ball-handler already.

There's no way I'd move him for Jimmer, not that anybody asked. Jimmer can't run a team, and we all know about his defense.
