Re: Nene
Nene is going to have a meltdown tonight then when he faces Smith, Monroe, and Drummond.

Re: Nene
This will be a blessing in disguise. He's a hinderance and hopefully they limit him to a bench role when he gets back.
I'm also disappointed in him for his offseason. It was great that he rested, but he also needed to drop 15-20 pounds in the offseason. When you get to that age, you need to lose weight to avoid wear & tear....

Re: Nene
In his defense, he *was* playing out of position, seeing as his natural position is supine.

So they played him for about 25 minutes after he got this latest injury...

that is probably the worse thing about it...Unlike others I think Seraphin/Booker/Harrington can replace some of Nene's offensive production so if he does 20-25 games this season I won't be in a total state of woe...but if he is nicked up...why play him. He clearly wasn't able to defend Monroe or Drummond. I guess he gets kudos for playing the game through the injury but he really wasn't a net positive.

It sounds like Nene is being somewhat dramatic about minor injuries that most guys don't talk about. Consider the difference in approach to Joakim Noah. He always gets hurt too. He's a very demonstrative and emotional player too. But he doesn't talk about his injuries.
I bet he feels lousy and is grousing. He's been through some **** before, you'd think stuff like this wouldn't faze him.
He's probably just too heavy. Tim Duncan made the decision to lose a lot of weight a year or two ago and it's helped preserve him. Nene should do it too.

Re: Nene
Nene sat out of practice *again*.

In his defense. He *was* playing out of position - his natural position is child's pose.

But I fear what would come back in return. If the Wizards were more committed to have a younger team, they might have a chance of a decent return for Nene. However with the commitment to "win-now", I hate to think what the return for Nene would be.
