I was actually thinking of something along similar lines. We'd want to wait until close to the deadline to get Porter healthy and adjusted. But it's a definite maybe from me.

I posted several variations of that over the summer, and I would have preferred that over the Harrington+Maynor signings. Kills what 2014 cap flexibility we had left, but gives us a young big in DWill that could still show something.

Trade TA, and the new Big they got, for a first round + add JV/KS/Nene if needed.

Need a fresh SF with drive talent/ as well as a youthful and skills big.

@hands what you suggest for a reasonable trade to get a youthful skilled big that can content 2 seasons from now?

Fredette just got his option declined. Vesely for Fredette? I think Fredette has a better chance of running the offense than Maynor.

I'd do that just to take a shot at a shooter (no pun intended). Based on last night, seems like they want to shoot a lot of 3's.

IMO Vesely has MUCH MORE VALUE than the Wizards allow him to show.

Let Vesely play with DeMarcus Cousins, while Fredette brings less than Shannon Brown or possibly Kendall Marshall would have brought. Make the (IMO bad) trade.
Bye bye Beal.

Bargnani was one of those moves just to make a move deals. He fits their system because he shoots threes. The Knicks didn't really give up much in the trade but having to pay his salary sucks. He's got an ETO for next year that I imagine he'll pick up.

I don't you've ever been more wrong than your are about Vesely right now. Vesely would have sh*tted the bed had he been forced to bang with Drummond, Smith or Monroe Wednesday night. He probably didn't want to play either. The man is like the cowardly lion, he has no heart. He the fight is simply not there.

It should be obvious. You can tell the quality of a tree by the fruit it produces. What has Vesely done to improve himself since he's been in the league? Has he gotten bigger? No. Stronger? No. Developed a face up game? No. Developed a back-2-the-basket game? No. Improved his jumper? No. Has he gotten more confident over time? No. His tree is barren. The guy simply doesn't want it. You can't make him take something he doesn't want. Vesely wants to be back over in the Czech Republic. To be honest, I don't know why he's still even here, he should have been cut already. He's a waste of a roster space.

Knicks would have been better off just keeping Novak and their picks.

Yes they did. They gave up a 1st rounder for a guy that literally kills them every time he steps on a court. Plus Novak was actually a useful player in a limited role.

The Freddette thing is interesting. Apparently 6 teams reached out to Sacramento (not including Utah). We have an unbalanced roster as-is with Singleton/Vesely/Booker/Seraphin eating space. I don't think very highly of Freddette, but he can shoot and we have nobody who can score off the bench in our backcourt. Maybe our pursuit of him is why we didn't keep Shannon (only logical reason I can think of as to why we didn't)

Make Singleton and/or Booker, not Vesely, the piece(s) traded for Jimmer and I'll be ecstatic, jive.

Booker's better but much older and his contract is up. Singleton makes no sense to keep on the roster. I would hope Maynor goes somewhere if Jimmer is acquired. I also think it's foolish to give up on Vesely too soon, since they now have not only Gortat but also Al Harrington, who both are better fits next to Vesely than Okafor was.

Vesely and Seraphin STARTED TOGETHER AND WON 8 OF 10 GAMES AT THE END OF 2011-2012. They showed promise! The Wizards, however, immediately brought veterans in who stunted whatever growth Vesely and Seraphin (remember the double doubles?) showed at the end of that 2011-2012 season.

Now Wittman and the Wizards want to bury JV's career in Washington -- while most fans are wrongly saying Vesely is terrible. I know what it's like to struggle to maintain an emotional balance. However, I think Wizards fans are really irrational when they rage against Vesely. Dude STARTED MANY GAMES AS A ROOKIE. IMO trading him for Jimmer is flat STUPID.
Bye bye Beal.

Jimmer is a bad player that wouldn't get a lot of burn here (assuming we wanna give Wall and beal 35 mins a night). I'd rather keep Jan as a situational defender. That and his expiring is worth a damn.

:nonono:

Only thing that's irrational is your support and excuse making for Vesely. By every single statistical & objective measure he's not an NBA player. You can argue what he did against Poland during the summer or how effective he was against Juwan Howard two years ago but it's plain laughable to suggest he's been undermined by the coaching staff, front office or fans here. He's had every opportunity to step up, improve his game and become a core piece. He doesn't want to. If he did, he's have worked on his game and body. He simply wants to be Honza, he wants be back overseas, playing for Partizan again where he's loved. You want more for him that he wants for himself.

Your letting Vesely become your own personal albatross much like Kwame became mines.

I would trade Veseley for Jimmer in a heartbeat. Jimmer shot 42% from 3 last year. Then again i would trade Vesely for a box of Krispy Kremes.

SMH at the Knicks. They have a huge advatage over other teams. Everyone wants to play in NY and they have huge revenue. But their management has been piss poor. Dumb move after dumb move.

Why would any sane person give up anything for Bargs? I was in disbelief when i heard about that trade. And now Dolan says he expects a championship? Stick to music dumbass.

Vesely is gone after this season...I couldn't be happier! Hopefully, no more threads dedicated to how the Wiz destroyed his confidence and ruined his career.

Vesely is CCJ's new cause...just like Jamison, Crawford and Blatche were his causes in the past.

Can't trade for long-term salary unless its Nene on the move (and that's not happening). Ernie has to act NOW and get whatever he can for either Ves/Booker/Singleton/Seraphin to fix the terrible bench he assembled. Maynor was a mistake....WOW

Vesely hasn't played this season and until he's used the way he plays best, I will keep saying what I do. You could be right, but I'm convinced otherwise … for now, Dat.

The coach's responsibility is to do what is best for the team. It is not his responsibility to do what is best for an individual player, especially a scrub.
