Four years 14 million
3.5 per year is a good number for Quincy

Re: Quincy Got Extension
His agent should be shot unless Quincy went rogue and had severe fear of getting injured again.
5 - 6 million per year was not out of the question with just a decent season this year.
Chase Budinger, Martell Webster, and Corey Brewer all received contracts in that range.

Great signing. Quincy is clearly being groomed to step into the starting lineup and, at that price, he'll be a bargain.

Re: Quincy Got Extension
On a somewhat related note - since their in the same draft class - what do you think Ed Davis is demanding for an extension? They must be pretty far apart as there were hardly any mentions of negotiations going on. IMO it's better not to extend Davis at this point as he hasn't shown much in Memphis, and his Toronto numbers may just be a "decent guy on a bad team" type situation.

Re: Quincy Got Extension
Wow, that's a steal of a deal for a role player of Quincy's caliber - a real win for Levien and co.
Regarding Davis, I read that he was offered a three year deal starting at $4.8M, which he rejected. I wouldn't have offered him anymore than $5M either. I have loved his upside dating all the way back to his UNC days, but he is 24 now and he still hasn't proven enough to warrant more than what he was offered. Grizz made a wise decision to not overpay him.

He has this season to really prove himself and then we can match any contract next year anyhow.

Very happy that Q-Pon got extended. Good player, good fit for the team and a great guy for the community as a whole. Seeing him at events you can tell he's someone that appreciates where he is and has great rapport with the fans. For a market like Memphis, this is a great plus and a big reason why this group of Grizzlies is being embraced like they are.

RE Davis:
It is really amazing how quickly things can change as it was always assumed that Davis would be the one getting the extension, but he has bricks for hands and is more Olive Oil then Popeye so he can't maintain position on the block and he has no range outside the paint, and whispers of a low basketball IQ as he consistently misses defensive assignments.
IMO he is more likely to get traded then finish the season. His ceiling could be high but his skills show a lot of weakness and reminds to many people of Thabeet.

Re: Quincy Got Extension
It's probably the issues of why former coach Hollins barely played Davis since his arrival back in February. If Davis can't get better under Joerger tutelage, who to say if any team might take a chance on him whether it's via trade or not?
