Wizards(18th)TWolves(protected)Pacers(30th) pick watch
Obviously we'd like the TWolves and Wizards to barely make the playoffs (or finish with the 13th and 14th worst records) so I figured we could discuss here.
I will update the title to show where the pick would land if the season ended according to the projections of Hollinger's playoff odds. http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/playoffodds
If Wizards pick lands in the top 12, we don't get it this year (roll to next year). If the TWolves pick lands in the top 13, we don't get it this year. If the Pacers pick lands in the top 14, we don't get it this year.

Wizards about to lose to Philly.
In watching some of that game, I don't think Philly beating Miami was a fluke. They might be better than predicted. MCW is really good.
Minny CRUSHING the Thunder. Up by 20 at half.

Just watching Minny. They`re looking good, I can see them making playoffs his season, barring some unfortunate injury.
Wizards are bigger question mark re:playoffs, as it seems now.

Was going to start a Wolves/Wiz draft-pick tracking thread but ya beat me to it.

Brad Beal 4-18 FG. Argh.
Such an overrated player.

Yeah, I think the Wizards are a big question mark. I think six teams are for sure in the playoffs in the east. But the Pistons and Cavs look more ready than the Wizards for those last two spots. One positive is the Bucks look awful.

A's over Royals. Lester and experience will prove that he's worth the trade.
Tigers winning it all. Tigers are, imo, peaking at the right time.

Re: TWolves/Wizards watch
I'll be happy if we just get one of these two picks next year. Preferably the Wolves, because I think it eventually turns into a second rounder or something. The Wiz pick we could get in the future, and it might be just as good. Three first round picks and rookies next year might be enough.
I just hope we don't miss out on both.

Re: TWolves/Wizards watch
Wayyyy to early to even think about these teams. So much will change during the season. I'm making it a point to ignore both the Wolves and Wizzards until mid season. Then I can decide if it's something to get excited about.

I think it makes it more interesting and fun to follow them as well. I do understand that the Wizards could go on a huge run later like they did last year and the Wolves could have their usual injuries and fall out of the race, but it's fun to watch them as the season goes on. They both have some dynamic players, and it is interesting to see how Gortat does.

Or you might have to wait out Wall's entire max contract.

Re: TWolves/Wizards watch
The Wizards are never gonna make the playoffs.
BTW, you should add Indiana to the thread title.
That the Wizards lost their second game in a row to open the season is bad enough. And the news got worse Friday night.
John Wall, who led his team with 26 points on 10-for-19 shooting, six assists and three steals in a 109-102 loss to the Philadelphia 76ers, could barely stand because of his lower back.
Spasms started in the third quarter and he was in excruciating pain in the locker room.
"Yes," Wall responded when asked if it's the first time he has had this back issue. "And it hurts badly right now."
BTW, you should add Indiana to the thread title.

Indiana should make the playoffs, so I'm not too worried about them now. I think it looks really good, because the Minny pick needs to be this year or next, or we get two second rounders, but the Wiz pick can be good in a few years. Good to have future picks, and we don't really need four firsts next year.

The Wizards can still make the playoffs, but if they don't then the good news is that their pick is only top 10 protected next year instead of top 12.

Re: TWolves/Wizards watch
I don't mind the Wizards being bad this year, the Wolves should make the playoffs unless another injury hits them, and the Pacers are definitely gonna be in the top 4 for Eastern Conference teams.

Man, Wizards can't catch a break with the injuries. They were killer last year when Wall was healthy.

Re: TWolves/Wizards watch
TWolves killing the Knicks early. This team has looked tough. Clobbered OKC now clobbering NY. Their pick may end up being in the 20s.

Can anyone explain what we get if certain teams finish a certain way?
