I know we had Russell Wilson for that one year, but I'm talking about getting a real recruit.
do you think qbs kind of avoid it because they know the focus is going to be on running the ball and power football so they figure they can go somewhere else because a lot of other places are going fast paced throw it around a lot?
That's most definitely part of it, but you'd figure some kid out there would like to be the one to make that change, or at least create more of a balance.

Good game, hermes. Hawkeyes are tough, but they don't close very well.
I can still pray that the F*ckeyes get into the NC and get obliterated by Bama, and leave the Rose Bowl open for us for yet another shot at a BCS win.

This Sparty defense is something else. They just swarm every part of the field.

I've thought that they have been somewhat forgotten this year. Offensively they are very pedestrian, but the defense is really really good.
Glad to see them whip up on big brother yesterday.

FSU dominated UM last night 41-14, and covering the 22 point margin.
UM is not ready for top-5 primetime football yet. They are a top-20 team, but they have a lot of work to do before they can stay near the top.

Re: General 2013 NCAA Football Season Thread
will be interesting to see how the poll voters feel about FSU. with Oregon idle..do they jump FSU over oregon?
I think the the effect to the computers will be minimal because FSU already ranked ahead of Oregon in most computers.
Palm at CBS projections have it getting very tight with Oregon keeping a hair of a lead over FSU

I think at this time, FSU might be the best team in the country.
They had a first half hiccup against Boston College, but other than that have been near perfect all season.

glad to see my ok state cowboys take it to texas tech last night. really surprised me, easily the best game they've played this year and leaves me feeling better about how this next month of games can shake up for the cowboys

Nice win, they control their own destiny to win the conference and get a BCS bowl bid.

Re: General 2013 NCAA Football Season Thread
FSU jumped Oregon and has a itsy bitsy advantage. if Oregon is impressive against Stanford they probably jump back. but if they barely eek out a win maybe FSU gains in the Human polls and keeps their spot. Going to come down to the wire. Will see how FSU weak schedule affects their computer ratings as we wind down the season.

Re: General 2013 NCAA Football Season Thread
Big games for Week 11:
Thursday:
#10 Oklahoma vs. #6 Baylor
#3 Oregon vs. #5 Stanford
Saturday:
#2 FSU vs. Wake Forest
#9 Auburn vs. Tennessee
Mississippi St. vs. #15 Texas A&M
VaTech vs. #11 Miami
Houston vs. #21 UCF
#13 LSU vs. #1 Alabama
Two absolutely massive games on Thursday that hold HUGE BCS implications. If Baylor can keep their pace up against their first real challenge of the season, they could make some noise in the National Championship conversation. If the Sooners shut them down, OU could vault into the one-loss debate.
Oregon/Stanford will (hopefully) be the best game of the year. If Oregon loses, their NC hopes are probably dead. A Stanford win could possibly vault them into the Top 3, even with an undefeated Ohio State waiting in the wings.
LSU and Alabama face off in Tuscaloosa. Bama should walk through this, especially since LSU is, arguably, not as good as their ranking dictates. If Bama takes it down, they should be in the clear until the season-ending Iron Bowl vs. Auburn and the SEC Championship against whoever limps in from the East.

This is more of a personal matter, but I've got a lot of friends who have gone/are going to FSU that are saying they are being disrespected by the polls, and it's becoming almost as annoying as Gator fans are.

In uniform news, Northwestern is wearing these atrocities on the 16th vs. Michigan. They're for the Wounded Warrior Project.

I'm all for the tribute to the soldiers and whatnot, but the blood is a very unnecessary detail.
