Thats bad, very bad. Gortat's main weapon are PnRs... but he needs good pointguard.
In pheonix Nash did the job and Gortat had a great season. Later Goran Tragic didnt even try to play PnRs and Gorat was much worse, especially in points per game statistics.
Hope Wall will learn soon.

I agree that Wall needs to be a better P&R player. It's funny, I've heard him mention in interviews that he wants to be better at pick and roll and all these diff things he's working on, but we never actually see it in games.

The only thing I've seen him make a concerted effort to do is shoot midrange jumpers. That seems to be priority #1,2, and 3 for him.

L. But I'm hoping Beal has a decent game at least.

Yeah, that was tough to hear that the PG and leader of the team is telling his best big man to not bother setting screens for him. Oh well, at this point we have no choice but to see how Wall learns throughout the rest of the year.

Well the thing with the pick and roll is that the guard has to be able to shoot. Wall isn't good at the pick and roll not because he's stupid, but because he's not a shooting threat. Guards can go under the pick all day and not have to worry about Wall going off. Nash on the other hand, as crafty and as savvy as he is, is one of the best shooters in league history. Coincidence that the best shooters make for the best pnr guards?

Just seems like he was a blank slate coming in. All he had was his speed.

No jumper.
No change of pace.
No ability to use a pick let alone hit the roll player.

This is his 4th year.

Hopefully having Gortat forces Wall to learn.

Wizards might actually match up better against a team like Miami then they do Philly.

Miami will run more traditional sets.

Booker should be able to use his speed.

A lesson in proper ball-movement and a spacing is taking place.

Great ball movement no doubt, but I think the Wizards have done a much better with their defensive rotations so far than they did in the first two games.

But what started the play.

Penetration.

They got it into the post and then passed it out and around the horn.

Someone has to get it down low to start that kind of play.
