Randolph Wants To Retire With Grizzlies

Post#1 » by jumivi » Mon Nov 4, 2013 1:58 pm

Zach Randolph can be an unrestricted free agent this offseason and he would like to remain with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Randolph has had his best NBA success with the Grizzlies, though many around the NBA believe they already have his replacement in Ed Davis.

"I’d like to be here," said Randolph. "I’d like to retire here. You never know. If I’ve got to make some sacrifices to be here, I would. I still can play. I can still help a team out. I want to win a championship. I’ve made all the money in the world. I just want to win. I don’t know yet [about opting in or opting out], but Memphis is my home. If they trade me tomorrow, I’m here. I just bought a new house. My daughters go to school [in Memphis]. That’s my home."

Thanks Zach, i hope so.

this is great. I haven't been back home since he got the new crib but it's right near my parents - will have to check it out!

It would good to see Zbo can stay a Grizzly since he had his better years here. And he's active in the community goes a long way to support the Grizz and the city to boot.

He is dealing with the wrong bunch (current grizz management) if he even expects market value like a Tim Duncan type deal (10 mill/yr) they have not paid close to market value on any free agent. They only secured Mike Miller because the money was not an issue for the recently amnestied player. I am not saying they are cheap but they seem to believe in not paying a premium for anything or anyone.

I hope he stays actually. He had all sorts of attitude issues etc early on but has been awesome in Memphis.
