Yeah I didn't mean to say Budinger and Turiaf were the difference, but they still are far from scrubs. Putting a Kmart/Budinger/Love combination out there, for example, really spreads the defense out. And as we know matchups and mismatches are very important in the playoffs. Of course this is all my biased opinion as a wolves fan, so we'll have to see lol

Match ups are important, Budinger and Turiaf are not.

We'll see when Budinger gets back.

Budinger is the 2nd best wing in the Wolves' roster so yea, he's kind of important.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

If his team starts winning and he doesn't have too many inefficient games like the first two he'll definitely be a candidate.

For the all star maybe but for the MVP? Cmon.

That doesn't say much. Scored 9.4ppg on .414% shooting, .321% from 3 last season. Awesome.

I guess the lack of assists is completely holding him back from consideration, shame.

Lack of assists not, lack of team success. You don't win MVP in a 40-45 win team that misses the playoffs unless you put up some monster wiltesque stats.

That's why I said if his team starts winning, and I didn't say he should win it, but that he should be a candidate. With the monster numbers he's putting up, he should, but probably won't because of lack of team success.

You saying Budinger isn't important is the dumbest thing I have read today. Congratulations.

True. And I suppose Rose isn't important since he is shooting poorly coming off a knee injury as well.

I forgot the part where Budinger won an MVP. Budinger sucked before his injuries. Dumbest thing I've read today. Congratulations.

I'm not saying Budinger is on Rose's level. I am saying you can't judge a player when he is just coming back from injuries. So a 3pt threat and slasher sucks?

Let's take a look at his 3 previous seasons when he was healthy:

TS% .543 EFG% .514 3p% .36. Per 36: 15.8 ppg 5.7 rpg

No no no. He sucks, though. I believe you...

Below average 3 point shooter, below average defender, below average ability to go to the line. You convinced me, Budinger is a useful 10th man.

Why can't you even stick with facts? League average 3p% is .359. Budinger is at .36.

I am done, though. If you can't see Budinger's value, it isn't worth my time.

Because doing that you include every single player's 3PT% in the league. .360% for a player that is supposed to be a 3 point threat is not good.

I can't believe I'm in this thread discussing Budinger.

Chase is not a below average defender, he's at least average and probably slightly above it. I don't know what he did before he came to Minnesota, but he was solid there on D. Average 3 point shooter, moves very well without the ball which is why Adelman likes him. He's pretty much the definition of "average SF".

And to me, the benefit of Budinger is he put's Corey Brewer on the bench as the energy guy. Much more valuable in that role then starter. And it means Shved won't play minutes at SF.

Really want to see if Chris Paul can put up a season where he actually deserves to be in the discussion with LeBron for the award.

Teams are afraid to double him and when they due with this lineup it is just a disaster for their defense

Clippers might not even win their division, lets not act like Paul is some MVP lock.
