Hopefully Beal will now be the go to guy at the end of quarters. It was painful watching Wall try to play that role.

Nah, Beal is good for Wall. First, he'll take some offensive pressure off of Wall to make the game easier. Secondly, Beal is a very hard worker (as is Wall) and their good habits should rub off on each other.
They really are a great combination together. We just need Wall to play like March Wall from last year, only all the time.
So how good would we be if Wall is closer to the superstar we saw last March and Beal is closer to the stud we saw this preseason? I guess this would be described as the best case scenario.

That would actually be a good case-study of sorts. When Nene is injured, how far can a truly great, young back court go with a young (and old), talent-less, truly incompetent front court?
The sick thing is that it would probably get EG to make a panic trade for a decent front court vet with a long contract.
Welcome to EG's Wizards: You can't hope for the best case scenario without fearing the consequences.

Dat you've been around long enough to know that "Wizard's" and "best case scenario" will never end like you hope it will.

I agree. Also Wall's Assist numbers will jump up big time. And the spacing like Nate said would be huge, especially now that they are developing Beal's Point Guard skills. The lanes and passes to Wall from Beal would destroy the paint!!! IMO

If thats the case
than the Wizards would have their Wade, and their Ray Allen. They just need their Lebron (Hopefully Wiggins/Parker/Randle in the draft and live up to hype)

Well they have been keying on him this year and he hasn't been able to dribble out of it
Back to back 5 turnover games.
He can drive in open space, but he doesn't have the handles to get out of pressure.

How soon until it becomes widely accepted amongst Wizards fans that Drummond should have been the pick? Drummond is playing at a tremendously efficient level and his defense is at DPOY level.

I know, it sucks. But at least we got Beal. We could have got Thomas Robinson... that would be very EG like.

I'm not knocking EG on this one, because I was very much in favor of drafting Beal, especially over MKG.
IMO Drummond is already a defensive / rebounding monster who is capable of controling a game from a defensive standpoint by himself. Besides do it all wing players like Lebron / Durant / and seemingly Paul George, defensive anchor big men of Drummonds quality are the second hardest roll to fill in the NBA.

Agreed - it used to be good point guards but that has changed.

Was it barelyawake saying he'd rather have Beal and an expiring over Harden?
Pretty damn ridiculous.

His slump definitely has him shook right now. I could see his frustration at times tonight.

Lol, a guy's slumping over the first four games of a season and half of you are ready to send him to rehab and a shrink.

8 assists, 3 steals, 5 rebounds is a nice way to make yourself effective during a shooting slump.
As the spacing opens up with Nene/Gortat in the post or Trevor A at the 4, he should get better and cleaner looks and his shot will fall again.
Its his dribble drive and dribble dish game that hopefully looks better as the year goes on.
Plus I think Wall's long ball last night wasn't to total random thing. He has worked on his shot a lot and he showed he can get hot late last year. Not saying he will be Curry, but his will look better then we are accustom to seeing. Hitting 5-8 from 3 was a really good sign for him. He needs to know he can actually take advantage of open looks. And even better, other teams need to know it. That's going to open up the middle more.
The team has room to improve by gelling and by Wall and Beal continuing to develop their skill sets. Beal driving and probing with the dribble. And Wall shooting, and a better pick and roll game. Thats going to help them half court sets.
I think we know what we have in Nene, Gortat, Webster, Trevor A, AH and Maynor
Then we have whatever improvements or contribution we can get from Otto, Glen, Kevin and Ves for more upside. I think we mostly know what we have in Booker and Temple.
With Nene back, Randy looks like Randy have his rotation set.
Wall, Beal, Webster, Trevor A, Nene, Gortat, AH, Maynor and Kevin. Which makes sense.
But next time Nene goes down, Kevin or Ves should get plugged in there, not Booker. Or you go with Trevor A as the S4.

I love the dunk at 1:45. It really took me by surprise that he decided to throw it down on Pierce. Beal has sneaky athleticism.
