Fact not fiction.

Paus the same attempt guy in Memphis, Barcelona before the nba, Spain, as a laker in his title runs, and without Kobe. He's not an aggressive player. He's averaging a turnover per every assist to go without defending the basket or offensive rebounding at all as Dantoni pointed out since he's not doing that dirty work. His shooting 41%.

Blake is being killed by every SG and not making them work, same with Nash who is shooting below 30%. Williams isn't stretching any floor

Kaman is on pace to out put Paus numbers if you give him 29 minutes all with better percentages and effort. Hill is rebounding at a 2 minute per board rate more or less and the leagues best offensive rebounder.

Farmar, Young, Henry, Meeks, and Wes have all did their jobs as expected or better.

The team lacks ft attempts without Kobe. Nash and Blake can't get open 3s where they just catch and fire like last years second half without Kobe. Every opposing SG is murdering this team because they can't be guarded and don't have to guard Blake or Nash:

Monta 11-14 and 8-8 FT with 30 points 9 assist 3 rebounds
Korver 8-10, 6-6 from 3, 2rebs, 4asts, 2stls, and a block
Reddick was 5/12 was 3 asts and 2rebs, and he went 1/6 vs Meeks
Manu 7/14, 3asts, 3rebs, for 20 pts
Klays 38 on 15/19 with 5/7 from three

Last year the lakers finished with a top 5 offense, Kobe was the leagues best post player at 1.2 PPP, and he converted them at a 60% range. Kobe's defensive fall off is greatly outstayed as he had better defensive effectiveness at 2 than Harden, Manu, Batum, Joe, Monta, Klay, and a bunch of other sgs. Kobe's historically boosted the FG EFG and TS of his bigs to make them look better, Kobe's got countless hustle slashers who are merely athletic like Shannon, Trevor, Clark, Barnes, old ass Jamison paid and to to look good, and he's given shooter boost like Vlad from the attention he gets.

I don't even want to hear hyperbole, this is Kobe's team and its a gap between him and the B on the court and as a leader. Call him selfish, cocky, arrogant, but it works and they all benefit.

I just want to see the fresh bloods starting and setting the pace. I'd even go with Farmar, Henry, Young, Hill/Johnson, Kaman/Pau.

I would honestly let Meeks start, he's played the best SG on the roster on both ends

Young also seems very comfortable off the bench where he can truly get to pound the ball like a Jamal Crawford.

Damn. I hate losing to the eff dallas. I thought we could win this one. Anyways, expected a 2-3 start so so far it's ok. And I dream about the day I wont see blake wearing the Lakers' jersey ever again.

Return to Los Angeles Lakers
