Really? I can think of several assets on the Raptor's roster that appear desirable, although unlikely to be dealt. Apparently, I don't think of the Raptors quite so meanly as you do the Pistons. However, if you mean this only regarding Gay then I see your point. Our best assets are much to cheap to trade for Gay, and where we could match salary I doubt the Raptors are interested. If the Pistons do look to make a trade it will likely be closer to the deadline.

You say this as if Toronto has anything the Pistons want.

No one wants Rudy Gay here.

I would take Amir Johnson and Landry Fields, another second round pick...I will give them Charlie V and Jerebko

Johnson provides more athleticism and another shot blocker in the post (more big bodies, more useful in the playoffs) and Fields just add more depth at the 2/3 spot.

I'd have interest in former Piston Amir Johnson - especially since he's added a 3 ball to his game. I wouldn't give up much more than expirings though.

I would also be open to Ross - he's a shooter. But they'd want more than I'd want to give.

No to DeRozan and Gay. We can't add more non-shooting perimeter guys.

Available:
Kyle Lowry $6 mil exp
DeRozen 4 yrs/~$10m per
Amir Johnson 2 yrs/~$7m
Rudy Gay 2 yrs/~$18m
Terrence Ross 3 yrs/~$3m

Bad contracts:
Landry Fields 2 yrs/~$7m
Steve Novak 3 yrs/$3.5m

My idea:

DeRozen, Lowry, Amir, Novak

For

KCP, Singler, Stuckey, CV31

Raptors dump ~ $40M in long term money and save $5m this year while adding a top 10 pick (KCP). This leaves them able to use Gay and/or Ross to dump Fields and have max cap room alongside Jonas V, KCP & the '14 draft draft pick.

We get a starting 2, a solid defensive big, a shooter and Lowry to fill the 3rd guard role.

A rotation of Jennings/Lowry/Billups/DeRozen/Smith/Amir/Monroe/Drummond seems interesting.
