I suspect Ainge is stuck with Wallace & Lee, unless he attaches them to a Rondo or Green trade...

Re: Trade Landscape/Trade Ideas
I think the best would be, if possible of course:
1) Trade Bass as soon as possible...I actually do not care what return would be. Expiring contract is more than enough.
2) Bass trade allows us to play Wallace/Green at PF spot, meaning Wallace minutes stay the same also after Rondo returns, what is crucial (big minutes, better stats) if we by miracle find someone who wants to trade for him.
3) Moving Wallace/Green to sf/pf spot also gives more minutes to Lee at back up sg/sf with also is good for his production and potential trade. Getting contract ending in 2015, not 2016 for Lee would be a victory.
As a lot of posters said, key is to trade at least one or two from Bass/Lee/Wallace trio.
I see construction of our future team like this:
rondo/bradley
franchise SG/bradley
green
sully/olynyk
defensive C/faverani
For me Rondo+Sully are the only keepers, all the other can be had.

Re: Trade Landscape/Trade Ideas
Bass is a guy that teams will be interested in. I think Lee has value too. Can't say the same about Wallace. That's a risky, risky move taking on 3/30 for a player that looks washed up. Only way you're getting rid of Wallace is if he suddenly starts playing really well and Ainge can find a team desperate to win now that has a hole at the 3.
Otherwise Wallace is a guy who could get waived... or a guy unfortunately who stays or is traded for an equally as bad contract....

Stretch provision this offseason... ~4mil per over 5 yrs.

that counts against the cap, right?
Want to know what sucks? That whole Amnesty Clause Provision and the rules behind it. It bailed poorly ran teams out of a bad contract. But teams like the Celtics and Lakers had no use for it because at the time of the lockout they didn't have any bad contracts on the roster. So they're penalized for running their organization well? Doesn't make sense. I feel like the Celtics should be able to use that Amnesty clause on Gerald Wallace.
So frustrating. Obama must have came up with the Amnesty "bail-out" clause.

Trade idea:
NYK gets: Humphries/Wallace
BOS gets: Stoudamire/Aldrich (waived)
Chandler is out for 4-6 weeks and Stoudamire is washed up, Wallace is a stretch four and Humphries is a rebounder. And that comes off the books. They have no real depth in their frontcourt other than Kmart and Bargnani. lol
Unfortunately the Knicks traded their 14' and '16 first round picks to Denver so they have nothing to give.

don't trade Hump unless it's part of a blockbuster to get an all-star at the deadline. No sense in giving him up yet.
If NY wants to tap into our group of mediocre veterans than they will be taking salary back. Wallace/Lee/Bass for Amare/whoever. Gets us out of the final years of Wallace/Lee and opens up playing time for the young guns. Also, Amare's contract next season could be our Theo Ratliff's expiring contract for a big deal.

Re: Trade Landscape/Trade Ideas
This is the only trade possible to get rid of Wallace imo...but only if Stoudamire is unable to play big minutes duo to injury or gets injured again being out of the season.

I believe this works after 12/15:
Green, Lee & Bradley for Asik, Terrance Jones, Canaan, Ronnie Brewer (can't be traded until 12/15) & 2014 pick

I'm surprised how many of you undervalue our players in trades.. Better to keep Bradley and Green than overpay with them..

Not much difference between Green & Asik. Both are 27 and have similiar win shares. I don't think Bradley has a ton of value, but is a good fit for Houston, and they may be willing to take on Lee and give up some prospects...

Bradley's an All-NBA defender at what, age 22? I need to read up on win shares, I guess.. but I think our strategy has been to hold out for good trades, not to make deals for the sake of dealing..

Bradley's a shorter Tony Allen. Nice player to have, but very replaceable, and not a good fit with Rondo, as neither can shoot.

Re: Trade Landscape/Trade Ideas
Bradley's shooting is complicated.. but at the very least, given his age, you try to find an eager buyer on the fact that he has 'upside'...

I imagine a HOU/BOS trade like so:
To HOU:
Avery Bradley
Jeff Green
Keith Bogans delicious contract
Jordan Crawford
To BOS:
Omer Asik
Jeremy Lin
I just threw up a little in my mouth.
Boston would need a pick or two for that one.

Re: Trade Landscape/Trade Ideas
Boston
Trades Courtney Lee, Marfan "Weak Heart" Brooks and 2014 1st RD'er (BKN)
Atlanta
Trades Lou Williams and Shelvin Mack
Skinny:
Mack gives the Celtics a little help in the backcourt until Rondo's return. Boston is getting the best player in the deal AND shedding an extra year of salary, hence the inclusion of the pick. Since Williams is currently injured and isn't due back for another couple months, Crawford and Bradley continue to get minutes and nothing is really lost in this trade. Lee's only consistent ability so far has been availability but he has been a net negative since stepping foot in Boston.
In the event Williams is able to return to full health, the Celtics have a scoring combo guard who could see minutes with either Bradley or Rondo. Williams is capable of carrying a second unit. The payoff would be somewhat delayed, however.
In the event Williams is unable to return to full health, the Celtics have one less year of commitment + no min. 2 years guaranteed rookie scale as a means to avoid the tax.

^ I'd do it but not sure ATL would unless they really wanted the pick. Lou > Lee without a doubt.

That trade is nuts. As of today the Brooklyn pick is #10.... Obviously will go down but I wouldn't be surprised if Brooklyn is content with being 6th seed like Boston past 3 years and saves their best for playoffs. That means a top 20 pick is possible. In this draft that could get you an excellent prospect.
"I think the criticism's stupid," Stevens said. "So I don't care. I'm with Jaylen (Brown) on that. Those two had achieved more than most 25 and 26 year olds ever had. I'd rather be in the mix and have my guts ripped out than suck."

Re: Trade Landscape/Trade Ideas
Not now. BKN is only .500 and is a -2 in point differential. Are they really going to be that good? Maybe but we need to see. Afterall if BKN falters a bit AND ATL falters a bit (say Horford gets injured) then even having the lesser of the two picks could be reasonably valuable. I mean, isn't the BKN unprotected?

I don't see HOU dealing picks.
I like Asik for long term and Lin's contract can come in very handy next season as an expiring. I need to include another long contract, Courtney Lee, to rework it a bit. I do think Bogans contract is more of an asset than is commonly realized at present.
