Kendrick Perkins/Lamb/ Jones 3rd

Post#1 » by LC_Magic » Sat Oct 26, 2013 10:49 pm

Hello OKC Fans,

I'm here from the Orlando Magic board, not trolling, honest enquiry. We were discussing a trade around Perkins, Lamb, Jones 3rd and draft picks.

The proposed Trade

OKC send:

Kendrick Perkins
Jeremy Lamb
Perry Jones 3rd
2014 1st round pick
2018 pick from Dallas

Magic send

Aaron Afflalo
Glen Davis

You guys get Kendrick Perkins contracts off your books, get a top level shooting gaurd in Aaron Afflalo, and Glen Davis as a back up 4.

I really think Afflalo is a top player, not an allstar (although he wants to be), he plays good defence and I think as a 3rd/4th option he would flouish. Glen Davis is a tough energy guy, coming off the bench I think he would be great for you guys.

Perry Jones and Jeremy Lamb still have question marks, we are developing a young team and both are worth a look at, the picks would really be the assets for us.

Let us know what you guys think or a what would be a counter. A poster on our forum thought Sefolosha would be prefered to by you guys to Perry Jones and Jeremy Lamb? is that right?

Don't want to speak for all, but honestly it seems we're pretty happy now ridin with Adams. The kid's been great in preseason, and history (at least w Ibaka) has shown if Brooks's hand is forced enough, he'll play a rook. Thinkin maybe he'll be in there late in the season. Plus, Baby isn't an ideal fit as a C with Ibaka, and his contract isn't the best either. Giving up Lamb and a pick wouldn't be a good deal, and Sef would be worse IMO. Sorry, but I don't see any deals for OKC and Orlando w/ Davis. Maybe a 3 team to get Afflalo, but that's probably about it at this point.

Edit: Definitely a no go, didn't see the second pick in there, and also realized it puts OKC in the tax, which is basically an auto deal stopper. They would have to send out more salary than is coming back, which wouldn't happen.

Would have to pass as well. The afflalo to OKC possibilities sailed when i looked at his contract. I think Presti would rather make a move for an MLE level wing if at all.
Davis is on 2 years same as Perkins so not much interest there.

Fair enough,

Although Afflalo is very good value for his contract.

Afflalo played pretty poorly last year, granted he's way out of his league having to be the best and most consistant player on a team. Still, I'd rather ride with Lamb + Thabo (the combination of which gives us everything Afflalo does, and probably a little more, at a few mil less), despite neither one being as good all around.
“If you're getting stops and you're making threes and the other team's not scoring, that's when you're going to see a huge point difference there,” coach Billy Donovan said.

Afflalo is good value but not on the thunder when we already have 3 players above 10m.

That is way too much for Afflalo, I would think Perk & PJ3 + a 2nd for Jameer would make more sense.

OKC can always move Nelson for a SG next season when Westbrook is fully back for the entire year.

Presti wouldn't make this trade as it would make his team better. Remember, Presti only does things that makes the team worse aside from drafting.

If you're basing this off the Harden move, im not sure what more he could do.

He offered Harden, 4 years 54-56 million which is a LOT, and he signed for 24-25 million more.

You play it out, and get a worse return?

It's a lose-lose situation.

Thats WAYYYYYYYYYYYY too much.

I could see PJ3, Thabo, and maybe 1 draft pick for AA.

But not a lot more than that.

They aren't trading Lamb.
