Finally some good games

Eagles @ Packers - Will AR be out?
Bengals @ Ravens - Ravens have to win this game or it could be the end of the season for them
Panthers @ Niners - two of the hottest teams in the NFL right now
Broncos @ Chargers - How will Denver look without their head coach?
Cowboys @ Saints - I feel like this is gonna be a combined score of 70-80 at the end, imo

Then of course it ends with showing Tampa Bay **** the bed again on Monday night

Ugh I hate Thursday Night games.

Vikes worry me. As crazy as this sounds Christian Ponder scares me more than Adrian Peterson. We have usually done well with AP, but mediocre mobile QBs ALWAYS kill us. I'm hoping the Vikes let down after losing in the last minute on Sunday, but we're just as likely to let down after our big emotional goal line stand and OT victory.

If we can grind out a win we'll basically get a mini bye week before a big showdown up in Philly...

Three random stat facts I found in researching my picks column:

Washington has the worst average starting field position in the league. Opponents gain more net yardage on punt returns than the Skins do on kick returns.

The Bengals have the most 80+ yard scoring drives in the league and also the best rate of converting those situations into points. That's even after going 0-4 with 3 turnovers and a safety in last week's game in those situations.

The Eagles are 3rd in the league in 3rd down conversions on the road (47%) but 29th at home (29%) even though the average distance of conversion is almost a full yard shorter at home. That's just freaky.

I'll even give a bonus one:
There are two teams that don't get at least 40% of their kickoffs to result in touchbacks: Pittsburgh and San Diego. Yet they rank 22nd and 25th in average opponent starting field position. That means a lot of teams (GB and HOU are two) would actually be better off letting the opponent run kicks back than just getting touchbacks.
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

i wish ponder was mediocre

everyone is hurt on the vikes, but it will somehow be close and then the vikings will make just enough mistakes to blow it

I have expectations of Philly going into Lambeau and getting the W but then I remember how inconsistent we are and can't expect anything good just yet.

Kinda sad too. Eagles last win at the Linc was over 12 months ago now. For some reason we've just been better on the road.

Patterson vs Slurs special teams could be amazing though. As long as he keeps his eye on the ball.

Our ST are indeed terrible. I heard a crazy stat on the radio: we are allowing more on Kick Returns than we are gaining on Punt Returns. That's just...incredibly bad.

With that said, we have gotten better in coverage the last couple weeks. Unfortunately we're still allowing blocks and are gaining nothing in the return game. If I have to see Josh Morgan take a kickoff inside the end zone and return it to the 15 yard line again I'm going to shoot someone.

The Cowboys have played 16 different Dlineman this season and that number might get to 17 Sunday.
Injuries have been **** ridiculous. I'm not sure how that number on the dline compares to other teams but I'd think its much higher than most.
Of course that number doesn't even include that pos Jay Ratliff (or Crawford or Bass since both of those two went on IR before even playing a down).
Good news for Sunday is Wares back, but who knows how much he plays, bad news is of course Hatcher is hurt now.

I don't think I've seen one show this week talk about tonight's game for more than approximately 30 seconds.

I really wish these Thursday games would go away.

yeah, they are terrible to begin with but this is going to be worse because the vikings are involved

i can only hope for a shootout with all these terrible defenses but i don't know if our offense is up to the task

If i was a Vikings fan i would be so frustrated with management.. investing the 11th pick no more than 2 years ago on Ponder who they have already given up on. Not to mention you traded away Percy Harvin who is an absolute stud, one of the best playmakers in the league.

What I don't get is how someone with Ponders arm strength was a first round pick?
I know arm strength isn't everything, but you'd think it would be a requirement for a first round QB
