Siva and Mitchell...

Post#1 » by DetroitDon15 » Thu Nov 7, 2013 9:21 pm

I think that it is clear Siva and Mitchell won't see any serious minutes. If neither is going to get significant minutes, someone tell me how many more games till one or both hit the d-league?

They're getting the English/Middleton treatment. It's a symptom of a coach who's been charged with getting his team to the post-season. KCP is currently suffering from this as well. Are there any other top 10 picks who have only played in 2 or less of their team's first 4/5 games? Not considering injuries, of course.

I feel like Detroit's recent history of developing young guys is pretty anemic. Oh well, par for the course for most of the league as well that isn't known to tank.

I think the D-League is crud and both are much better off being around the team, working out with coaches before game on game day and with the team whenever we can get a practice in during the season. Siva is a four year college player and Mitchell had some attitude concerns - keep Mitchell around pros in a controlled, disciplined atmosphere.

I'm sure both will head down some time this year for a conditioning stint, but I don't expect them to be there for any real stay.

I don't think Siva really has anything to gain by going to the D-League, the only things he needs to be doing right now are shooting about 1000 Js a day and getting comfortable in Cheeks offense. I think we should get Mitchell all the pt we can regardless of where its at, plus id like find out sooner rather than later if hes able to control himself without being baby sat.

We could send all 3 rookies down there.

All 3 down there dominating would be great for there confidence and trade value.
