Greg Monroe for Kahwi Leonard or Chandler Parsons

Post#1 » by tysho21 » Fri Nov 8, 2013 3:29 am

Do u think Spurs would accept Monroe for Leonard or Rockets would accept Monroe for Parsons? They are both good SF's and i think Monroe is good value in return for either one of them

Doubt Monroe for Parsons can be done at all given his 900k-ish salary. Spurs might do it and turn Monroe into a monster.

Both teams would accept those trades. That said, if no other players or picks are included then that's an awful trade for the Pistons.

Monroe is looking pretty good so far this year. I would hold off on trying to trade him.

We score so many points in the paint because of Monroe. No thanks. Unless we get back a 20+scorer from the SG position, and even then I wouldn't do it. If Drummond can become a really good post player, then fine, ship Monroe.

Until then, I hate this trade.

To be fair, Monroe is averaging almost 10 more minutes than Leonard.

Kawhi Leonard could just as easy average 17 points pg if he was used as a first option.

Maybe he could, maybe not. I'm sure every look is a bit more open with TP/Ginobli/Duncan around. Not to mention the tight ship Pop runs. Our plays are half assed by at least 1 player (cough Josh smith cough) half of the time.

Monroe for Parsons is probably a no. I freaking love Parson and his basketball ability but I think Monroe is worth more than him right now and even beyond. Both are easily all-star capable.

Kawhi I'm not too fond of since I think the reason why he's so good is Pop AND his tight system that gets literally everyone involved.

Kawhi Leonard is one of the few players I would trade Monroe for. San Antonio wouldn't do that though.

Although I'm a bit surprised to see some of the same posters who would want to deal Monroe and all our cap flexibility for Andersen/Gordon so opposed to the idea.

I would trade Monroe and Jerebko for Kwahi and Splitter....we have a solid three big man rotation with Kwahi being a cornerstone for the Pistons

while Monroe can be the protege of Duncan for the next few years

Leonard is a beast, but it's not a trade we should make.
Monroe is the only consistent scorer on this team and he makes life so much easier for Drummond and Smith when he's on the court.
The only true advantage this team has over others is the size of our frontcour, trade moose and we go back a step. Drummond would suffer without monroe feeding him bunnies and we'd have to lean on smith. That isn't going to help us.

Kawai Reminds me of Iggy back in the day , with a better 3 point shot. i do think Kahwi is very much a product of SAS system, meaning that if he is traded, i think his weaknesses become more apparent. i see no reason to trade moose at this point for a gamble at SF.

before this season Monroe for Leonard would have been an easy decision to make for the Pistons now its a little tougher given Monroe's play. Monroe for Leonard would be perfect for both teams. Leonard has all star role player potential and would be even sicker with our squad once we figure our backcourt situation

I would definitely trade him for Leonard, for Parsons I would be more comfortable with a Monroe/CV for Parsons/Asik swap. Both players are off to slow starts but it sounds like some of you are reading too much into that.

our identity is being bigger than everyone and dominating the painted area. if we trade monroe for a normal SF, we are just like everyone else, only worse offensively. how do you plan on scoring with jennings/SG/leonard or parsons/smith/drummond. jennings is really the only go to, get your own shot, offensive threat. no way do i even consider doing that trade.
