They need to score 3 in the second half to beat us. Never gonna happen at Jeld-Wen.

Another Portland goal in the 47th minute. 3-0 Timbers!

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
The craziest thing about our success this year is that we've been doing it without both Silvestre and Horst.

Congrats Timbers, I am beyond excited for RSL vs Timbers. A true marquee match up for MLS. One vs Two in the west. It will be great. See you Sunday!!!!

Well done Portland!
Fantastic game, even if it got close in the end.
Can't wait for RSL/Timbers.

still can't believe New York is out.
the Euro tie-breaking rules would have seen them advance thanks to away goals...damn yanks and their overtime!

Oh man remember silvestre at arsenal? Oh boy, has he been good for the timbers?
Well he got hurt pretty early in the season (torn ACL) but he was VERY VERY VERY good for the Timbers. Probably could have made a case for MLS Best XI if he had stayed healthy.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
First leg of Houston vs Sporting Kansas City ends in a 0-0 draw. Guess I didn't miss much in this one. Awful time of the day to play that game IMO. Their next game will be in two weeks in KC.
So excited about tomorrow.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
Portland and RSL tied 1-1 in the 36th minute.
Will Johnson scored for Portland on a beautiful free kick, and RSL scored a very nice corner kick. Good game so far but RSL is bring the pressure against Portland.
RSL almost just scored on another corner and on a perfect cross pass. WHEW!
Go Timbers!

2-1 RSL leads going in a at half. Portland made a mistake by playing passively after they scored.

Going to be tough for Portland to catch up now.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
Incredible atmosphere at Rio Tinto for these last two games. The team is playing fantastic and I'm feeling great about our situation after that game. Devon Sandoval was all over the place tonight and Javier Morales was in MVP form. Props to the Timbers Army who made it to Utah on such short notice.
I'm really hoping that last second goal doesn't come back a bite us in the ass in the second leg. I cant wait for the 24th.

Re: The Official Major League Soccer Thread
This long break is so stupid.
Is it simply because of Thanksgiving?
To me it takes all the momentum away from the MLS playoffs that has been building.

MLS doesn't normally care about FIFA dates, maybe that has finally changed.
