Peppers is basically just an above average DE at this point imo. He doesn't "suck", he's just simply not playing up to the standard that we are used to seeing from him, and top of that players don't exist in a vacuum, meaning the other D-linemen aren't helping him much.
With that said, he's obviously playing way, way below his contract and I'm 99% certain he'll be cut next year (which he needs to be).

Agreed. If this is the new norm for Peppers he either needs to restructure a 50% minimum salary decrease or be cut. I'd insist on more of a cut, but I believe that if he is cut this offseason the cap hit takes up about half of his salary anyway so it would be a wash. He's playing nowhere near even half of his contract level at this point though.

Its time to move on from PEPPERS. He was great in 2010 and 2011. His drop off began last year and its clearly evident this year as well. Whether its due to age, money or whatever reason(s)/excuses. The Defense needs to be revamped. I'm still not sold on the offense just yet, but it is the best I've seen it...ever in my life as a BEARS fan. Crazy thing is - I like how McCown is controlling things more than Cutler...
