The issue is accountability. If the guys ****ing up are yelling at the guy who didn't **** up, it means they're not taking responsibility for their own play, like Harden's isos and Dwight's inability to close out or shoot FTs. It's poor leadership and it's crappy for the locker room. Same goes for the coaches.

Google Popovich yelling and you'll see him yelling at Duncan and Parker all the time. I have no idea why Harden and Howard are getting a free ride given that they're both signed to long-term deals.

That's because Gregg Popovich has complete ownership and control of his squad on the court. Whereas, the Rockets are at the mercy of their two superstars. The franchise can't risk upsetting them so everyone else will be the scapegoat before the real issues are addressed.

I get the feeling that some of the Rockets players (i.e. Parsons) resent Lin for his contract.

I don't think that's true of Parsons. He benefited a lot from Lin getting him open shots last season, and Lin is probably the main reason for his growing fanbase, esp in Taiwan.

If you take a look at McHale's career, even dating back to him as a player, he was never a leader. On those Celtics squads, everyone answered to Bird and DJ.

He just doesn't have it in him to hold guys accountable and he especially won't do it considering that he may get fired for it. Harden and Howard each have more clout than McHale does.

But they both have long-term deals. The only risk is them asking for a trade, and a little straight talk once in a while isn't going to lead to that. Especially for Dwight. Mchale could probably say whatever he wants to Dwight without fear of Dwight asking for a trade, given that Dwight cares desperately about his image and knows that this is his last chance to make things work before he is branded a cancer/failure (though for many, that ship has already sailed).

They're on the court together from 10 minutes per game.

I think it's a possibility. Money is always a big factor. Parsons probably thinks he's the 3rd most important player on the Rockets right now and he's only being paid a tenth of what Lin is making. Plus, Lin has been relegated to the bench.

Anyway, weren't those two BFFs just last season? Interesting when Lin takes a nasty dip in the Lakers game only Bev is there to check up on him.

Mchale is mostly to blame imo. It's a coach's job to make sure everyone is on the same page.

First time I've seen the play.

Kid is trying to call the play.. everyone but Parsons is wandering off and not paying attention.. Lin then shrugs his shoulders and is like "come on guys" and then is like "oh well".

Dumb ass Harden probably figured it was the typical Iso play where he dribbles the ball for 15 seconds and hoists so why bother.

I hate when people bring up, "oh he makes so much money" he shouldn't be this affected.

Really come on, life isn't just about the money. Maybe he wants to play with teammates that don't scream at him for performing better than them.

This sequence disgusts me in so many ways. It's a close game and the Lakers just got to within 2. Beverley is bringing the ball up the court and you can see Harden just casually walking over...thinking Bevs was gonna just hand over the ball as usual. But, Lin is already there and he gets the ball and immediately starts to signal to run a play. Him AND Parsons are calling Harden to go to the left side, but Harden ignores them and just walks over to the right. Notice, that this WHOLE time Harden is walking. Who WALKS so much during a basketball game?

Harden is obviously pissed that he didn't get to play iso ball so he's like "**** this I'm out".

Then he pulls the same **** on D on the other end.

Harden is pathetic.

I think Carmelo publicly commented on Lin's contract, which is pretty taboo amongst players. There's some level of resentment around the league it seems.

yea Haren fans is making excuse Haren is running the play that he read the play signal from Parsons
BS
from the video i see Lin and Parsons are calling the play for Harden to go to the left side of the court but he just walking to the right side
Haren walking to the right basically took away Lin driving space on the right side

Harden strolls around on offense and defense, and when he actually has to do something he lets his guy drive around him and fouls him on the arm. But the superstar treatment laws dictate that he gets the ball back and gets to bitch at team mates for things not going perfectly.

Maybe he and Dwight will benefit from each other when they realize how not to approach the game.

That was one of the most pathetic things I've seen a player do in a game. Harden acting like a 4 year old throwing a tantrum

I agree 100%. I also think people who have never made a lot of money are the first to make this comment.

At the highest levels of any profession money is pretty much irrelevant to personal job satisfaction. Unless you're in finance, and then it's just a way of keeping score.

Did this title just say "Jeremy Lin getting bullied on the Rockets."

LOL

He just got yelled at for screwing up. Stop being so soft and sensationalist.

Is it me, or is Steve Nash holding on to Lin and if that is the case, shouldn't there have been a foul call on Nash? Having said that, I await as Laker fans will want to flame me for even suggesting it.

But he didn't screw up. And where's the yelling at Harden for wasting possessions by dribbling out the clock or not playing any defense, for Parsons throwing an ill-advised pass to the worst free shooter on the court, to Beverly for playing like crap on offense and for Howard for still being a completely pathetic free shooter. It seems pretty one-sided this whole blame game.

How did Lin screw up? How about a guy that shoots 9/24 from the field and plays 0 defense? Oh, what about a guy that plays professional basketball but can't shoot a damn FREE throw ?
