A late 2014 first round pick isn't a shot in the dark, its a young, cheap, valuable asset in this new CBA.

i'd say afflalo is a pretty decent asset too. a known asset, mind you.

which is why he garners a first round pick.

And why would you want an expiring contract?

Moving BBD would free up space for Harkless, Nicholson and Harris to coexist.

Why don't we just do Deng for Afflalo and call it a day.

chances of late first round pick not working out? i'd rather not take that risk. i'm fine with trading afflalo but i'd like to lower the risk level a tad bit. i'm not even necessarily talking about a higher draft pick either.

Because we don't just want to get rid of Afflalo. We do, however, want to just get rid of BBD.

Of course Lin is the weakest link there, neither one of them is going to say we lost because Dwight missed his FTs.

I like AA, but he has 2 more years at over 6 Mil a year. That's a decent amount to take on for a "guy who May not start next year". Which to me drops his value a bit. Chicago could get someone like Turner, or Courtney Lee and it would be cheaper.
I'd take Eric Murphy & 2nd round pick 2015 and expiring to make it work. IF the plan is to tank this year.

As long as Afflalo is here, he will be starting. Hennigan and Perry love him.

What were they mad about Nash physically holding Lin from getting to Blake?? Cause that's what happened Dwight lost this game but again like Orlando the media is gonna baby him god I cant wait to see what happens when nobody wants him anymore

Edit: Oh wow I see what happened that is incredibly awful by James Harden. He got mad when he didn't get the ball and proceeded to go pout ignoring Lin calling the play and Lin than shows frustration that he isn't even looking at him. James Hardin is officially an NBA Diva I guess Dwight is rubbing off on him
Fine print disclaimer for Fultz:
I am high on Markelle Fultz. Yes I understand he is not perfect and needs to shoot more and better and turn the ball over less. I would really like to see him play one more year… and I did and he sucks time to move on.

Per WT:
James Harden Day-To-Day With Bruised Foot

More like bruised vagina. Him and Dwight are two peas in a pod.

Courtney Lee is signed for $5.5mil/yr until 2015-16 and isnt the player that AA is. If by Turner you mean Evan Turner, he is going to ask for around that much at least.

Teague is a throw in. You would trade Afflalo for a late first round pick?

YES in a heartbeat

I'd want the Bulls 2014 1st rounder and the Charlotte pick as a starter. Anything else is a throw in.

Someone asked Kevin Pelton of ESPN about Deng/Teague for AA (and fillers) this afternoon. Here's his answer.

Tommy (Chicago)

There has been a lot of chatter in Chi-town about a trade of Deng/Teague for Aaron Afflalo (and filler). Orlando gets an expiring contract and young prospect. Bulls get an improved shooting 2 guard and can move Butler to the 3. Think it makes sense?

Kevin Pelton (2:51 PM)

I don't think Teague has much trade value at this point. Probably need a first-round pick in there to get it done.

More Orlando stuff...

JB Southpaw (Orlando)

So, how many games until it's no longer a "too small of a sample size"? Orlando is playing well against decent competition, say if they start 20-10 do they look to add instead of subtract??

Kevin Pelton (3:22 PM)

Much as everyone would like it, there's not really one point where statistics become reliable. I wrote this last year: http://www.basketballprospectus.com/art ... cleid=2442

Kevin Pelton (3:23 PM)

With regards to the Magic specifically, that would be so far above expectations, for such a long period of time that we would at that point have to consider them a playoff time. But I still couldn't imagine them changing their long-term focus. Sam Presti once had a great quote about his vision for the Thunder along the lines of wanting their first playoff appearance to be a step and not the destination. And I'm sure Rob Hennigan is thinking the same way.

(some other Orlando related stuff in there too).

all things considered, I thought Houston covered that play alright, it actually wasnt a bad contest by dwight. It was a really nice play drawn up by Dantoni

I've been playing association on nba 2k14, simmed the first season and finished with the 7th worst record (won like 32 games I think) anyway I did the draft lottery and got the #1 pick. so all you pro tanking people don't stress if we win a few games, anything can happen.

Wait, it is virtually impossible to win the lotto drafting 7th. Wait, you are playing a video game, thus it is a virtual situation.

He didn't.Our other coach Steve Clifford did. Patrick Ewing is the lead assistant. Clifford is out tonight.
