Hurting our tank...yes, he will derail our tank. His current impact is minimal due to not being ball dominant like he used to in Knicks, once he arrives to T.O, he will have the ball alot. I'm not in route for an 8th or 9th, not now.

Sorry guys you know the rules. When Mufasa agrees with your opinion/idea it's instantly a bad one.

I'm not sure what your beef is here with Lin, but you're way exaggerating. D-League level player? Please. He's a solid NBA starter at the PG position.

He would usurp Landry Fields (lol) as the team's best pick and roll player, and that would mean we would be able to focus the offense on our two most efficient scorers, Valanciunas and Amir. Lowry's style of playmaking caters to DeRozan and Gay who are inefficient.

Sorry to break it to you but Lin would be the 4th PG on the raptors depth chart.

Sorry to break it to you but Lin is slightly better than Lowry both statistically and the eye test. And he's younger and doesn't repeatedly feud with his coaches. I agree with Choker that Lin would make this team better, but I'm not sure this is what we want in a tank year.

Houston might be benching him so struggling teams are willing to trade for him so they can get a salary dump for next year.

Its actully 8.33 mill a year

I don't think Houston would want to trade Lin when he's the only player other than harden who can create his own shot on that team and especially when he's playing so well right now.

I agree that the entertainment factor would be a positive in another throwaway season. The lack of defense both would play would give people nightmares.

As a player he may have been worth 5-6 last year. But add in youth and potential to improve and paying 8 for Lin is not a killer, especially if we expect to tank

Yes, yes, and meh i can't say strictly due to my lack of time watching him...
however i dont think this is a bad move if we are going off of the OP's premise of an almost hidden tanking team.
Lin would be fun to watch and garner some additional ratings
Also he would be a little faster and not as old as Nash and yet make a little less of a difference in terms of wins.... (only say this due to that recent Nash 'rumor')

It's funny; I've been thinking that the Rockets are a perfect trade partner with the Raptors. They're in win now mode and they have a few guys on the bench (D-Mo, Terrence Jones, Greg Smith) that never play but have shown glimmers of promise. Amir & Lowry for some of their young bigs, a future pick and take Lin off their hands. It would be painful to move Amir but it would make the Raptors bad enough to tank and get them some assets (21 year old TJ + a pick).

Some people are forgetting that Lowry had problems with McHale and almost asked to be traded. No way is Houston gonna trade for Lowry. We would have to give them something else, though I can't think of anything they would want.

Lowry for Lin (Would You Do It?)

Post#56 » by pg16kid » Sun Nov 10, 2013 3:46 pm

This is a continuation of the thread "The answer to all our problems... JEREMY LIN"

This trade would be perfect for both teams

Houston needs a 3 + D PG to play off-ball to Harden

Toronto needs a guard that can run the offence and utilize the PNRoll with JV & Amir. Lin will also have the ball in his hands and make plays happen

Nope. We obviously have Tank Boss Augustin to run the starting PG when the time is right.
