Because they're paying him a bunch of money? We all have worked jobs we don't like for a lot less money. He still shouldn't have to put up with being bullied.

Jonathan Martin might not have what it takes to utilize his skillset into becoming a dominant player, but even as is, soft or what not, he is a good prospect that can help a team.... He can carve out a productive and lucrative career, why wouldn't he want to do that?

Just look at the way the players on the team are jumping to Incognito's defense, whether it be implicitly or explicitly. How would a guy like Martin get any help from other players and coaches when it seems that no one would have had his back anyway? The Dolphins players sticking up for Incognito are spineless and attempting to paint a rosy picture of the whole thing when the reality was most likely a lot worse.

Don't think this has been posted yet. And it needs to be. Don't understand how you can think less of someone because of their background and the way the carry themselves, especially if it's racially motivated (which seems to be a factor here).

ESPN analyst and former Dolphins wide receiver Cris Carter has know Mike Pouncey since the player's childhood. Today Carter said on air he recently spoke to Mike Pouncey and the center, who is Incognito's friend, addressed race.

"They don't feel as if he's a racist, they don't feel as if he picked on Jonathan repeatedly and bullied him, but if they could do it all over again there would be situations that they might change but they’re very, very comfortable with Richie,” Carter said.

“They think it’s sad, not only that Jonathan’s not on the football team, but also that Richie is being depicted as a bigot and as a racist.”

How is this possible?

Well, I've spoken to multiple people today about this and the explanation from all of them is that in the Dolphins locker room, Richie Incognito was considered a black guy. He was accepted by the black players. He was an honorary black man.

And Jonathan Martin, who is bi-racial, was not. Indeed, Martin was considered less black than Incognito.

"Richie is honarary," one player who left the Dolphins this offseason told me today. "I don't expect you to understand because you're not black. But being a black guy, being a brother is more than just about skin color. It's about how you carry yourself. How you play. Where you come from. What you've experienced. A lot of things."

Another former Dolphins employee told me Martin is considered "soft" by his teammates and that's a reason he's not readily accepted by some of the players, particularly the black players. His background -- Stanford educated and the son of highly educated people -- was not necessarily seen as a strength or a positive by some players and it perpetuated in the way Martin carried himself.

And so -- agree with it or not, comprehend it or not -- this is a reason the Dolphins haven't turned on Incognito as a racist.

This pretty much sums it up!

All that sums up is how pathetically small minded you are.

Anyone want either Incognito or Martin on their team?
It's not whether you win or lose, it's how good you look playing the game

Why the hell wouldn't you want Martin on your team? Your whole paragraph about giving Martin some blame is **** ridiculous, especially after reading your $.10 column.

Probably because hes not even that good to begin with. Though with the tackles your team has he would be an upgrade so its a valid point.

DAVIE, Fla. -- Miami Dolphins head coach Joe Philbin confirmed that suspended guard Richie Incognito was investigated last year for allegedly molesting a female volunteer at the team's golf tournament.

"That incident occurred a year and a half ago," Philbin said Saturday. "We were made aware of the incident and we took immediate action."

Philbin declined to elaborate on what kind of actions were taken against Incognito. Philbin also did not reveal whether the NFL was alerted.

Incognito played all 16 games in 2012 and was eventually voted onto Miami's leadership counsel by his teammates in 2013.

No charges were filed against Incognito following the incident at the team's golf tournament, which took place in Aventura, Fla.

However, the police report states that the volunteer told police that Incognito "used his golf club to touch her by rubbing it up against her vagina, then up her stomach then to her chest. He then used the club to knock a pair of sunglasses off the top of her head."

The story was first reported Thursday by WPLG-ABC in Miami.

The woman, who is black, told several media outlets she has declined to talk because she had signed a confidentiality agreement.

The Dolphins suspended Incognito indefinitely last Sunday due to alleged harassment and misconduct toward teammate Jonathan Martin, who left the team due to emotional issues.

The story caused a national media firestorm, prompting the NFL to investigate the Dolphins, Incognito and Martin.

There's almost no chance Philbin and Ireland retain their jobs.

I don't get how a guy like Incognito got voted onto the leadership counsel other than by using intimidation or peer pressure. Then again they have other scumbags on that team like Pouncey.

As for Martin I don't think he'll play in the NFL again. With the way the responses have been to this incident from other players you can imagine that he won't fit in with many locker rooms.

I was thinking about this; and if true, can he sue for lost potential revenue as well?

If he can prove he is not getting a job because of harassment and not because he sucks, I am sure he can get something
