Knicks receive - Rajon Rondo, Gerald Wallace, Brandon Bass & Courtney Lee

Celtics receive - Emeka Okafor (huge expiring), Andrea Bargnani, Goran Dragic & future 1st

Suns receive - Iman Shumpert, Amar'e Stoudemire & Raymond Felton

Knicks get Rondo
Celtics gets an expiring, a decent 4 with 1 more yr left & a nice PG with good upside.
Suns get Shump to match with Eric Bledsoe & return of Amar'e to end his career. Felton can backup Bledsoe.

http://espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=kaykham

Knicks receive - Kevin Love

T'Wolves get - LaMarcus Aldridge, Iman Shumpert & 2 future 1st rd picks (NOP) & (NYK)

Pelicans receive - Tyson Chandler, Nicolas Batum & Raymond Felton

Blazers receive - Eric Gordon, Ryan Anderson, Derrick Willams, Jason Smith & a 1st rd pick (MIN)

- Knicks get Kevin Love. Melo-Love-Bargs create a new dynamic at the 3,4 & 5.

-T'Wolves acquire 2 future 1sts. A very good player with a little more potential to reach. Obtains an All-Star for an All-Star.

- Pelicans feast on putting Davis at the 4 & pairing him with his Olympic teammate Tyson Chandler. Acquires a legit SF to complete their starting line-up.

- Blazers revamp & retool while McCollum is out. Lillard & Gordon backcourt should be nice. Derrick Willams has improved & goes somewhere to shine better. Anderson is a good solid replacement for Aldridge. Acquires another 1st rd pick.

KNICKS trade:
Iman Shumpert
Amare Stoudemire
Chris Smith

KNICKS receive:
Goran Dragic
Gerald Wallace
Kris Humphries

SUNS send:
Goran Dragic
Channing Frye

SUNS receive:
Iman Shumpert
Courtney Lee

CELTICS send:
Gerald Wallace
Kris Humphries
Courtney Lee

CELTICS receive:

Amare Stoudemire
Channing Frye
Chris Smith

- Knicks get players that can help them in a a lot of area's.

- Suns get a back court partner for Bledsoe, a player they've coveted for a while now.

- Celtics actually save themselves long term money by getting rid of Wallace & Lee who each have an extra year on their contract. Who knows maybe Amare can actually give them something.
My lifetime better have a Knicks championship.

Is the goal to have max cap space I.n 2015 or to keep going all in with this core.

If we're going all in we should be talking about turning Amare into 2-3 useful players with longer contracts.

If the goal is 2015 we should be trading vets like Chandler for young assets that could be used to build the 2015 team.

But this team as currently constructed is in no mans land. Not good enough to win it all, not flexible enough to get the final pieces to the puzzle.

Hell no. WTF.
We don't even get Harrison Barnes in this trade? Just Klay Thompson? He's suppose to save the day?

IDK if I would want David Lee in that scenario. If I could get Barnes and Thompson, i'd prefer the cap space in 2015. If you could add Marc Gasol and Rondo in 2015 your in business

Gasol
2015 lotto pick
Barnes
Thompson
Rondo

There's just not enough value on this roster to quick-fix our way into contender status.

Ultimately leaning toward, be patient, if a Rondo deal materializes, do it, if not, wait until next season.

It's not just about the here and now, it's about setting the stage for 2015. The reality is that this team still needs to remain as competitive as possible so that: a) it's current star actually stays, b) that other stars actually view this organization as one that continues to strive to do what it takes to win. No, there is no instant 2nd star trade they can muster in all likelihood, but they can still make some trades to make this team function better as a team and, as a result, remain more competitive than they otherwise would be.

I expect a lot of players becoming available closer to the trade deadline. Some of the summer signings/trades look awful. Pelicans are struggling to win games despite an MVP performance from Antonio Davis. Gordon/Evans/Holiday trio might all be available. The whole Denver roster might be in play. Toronto roster is all available. Also others might want to improve their tanking like Philly, Orlando, Utah, Sacramento etc. Heck, even Memphis players might be in play if they are at .500 level (I can totally see Hollinger doing that).

When everyone is tanking, there should be some opportunities out there. Dolan must open his checkbook and we gotta move some of the useless players for better players even if they are a bit overpaid.

The deadline should be insane this year. It's a shame Amare isn't expiring this season.

The problem is the FO doesn't appear to be interested in that. They want to fail in the 2015 FA market again.

Waiting for 2015 is not a quick fix. It is the responsible thing to do.
