Still can't believe that contract Tyreke got. He's being used wrong now, but on his best day he's nowhere near worth that money.

Let's not forget we could have gone after Tyreke Evans instead.

He's had a Charlie Villaneuva-like drop off since his Rookie season.

:eek1: I think CanadaBuck was the only one that was hoping we'd overpay Tyreke, but his biggest problem is that the Peli's think he's a SF when clearly he needs the ball in his hands to be effective.

I don't think I lobbied for Tyreke, just commented he could get to the rim. Think I did say I would have taken him over Evan Turner though, and probably still would everything being equal.

Evans is still good, he's just coming back from injury and actually not really playing many minutes. Fantasy owners go crazy, but this might be part of his rehab: playing fewer minutes.

Can't believe none of us are talking about how great Teague has been doing... almost 18 and 10. Shooting a low percentage but damn, I had no idea he would take that next leap in playmaking.

Likely because most of us want the team to be bad. Teague would have certainly ended that hope.

It's been discussed though, if not here, in other threads. Hammond has been crucified for only offering $8 mil per year while also lighting $3 mil per on fire to sign Delfino. It absolutely boggles my mind that he wouldn't just offer 10 or 11 and then avoid Delfino altogether. It's almost like he's a terrible GM or something.

You have to love a lot of these young teams showing early season success. It gets interesting if their GMs let the season play out and win what they can, or they make talent cutting moves. I could see Milwaukee, Washington, Charlotte and Cleveland in on some of the guys playing well for Philly and Phoenix.

They'll fall over before midseason imo.

I've said it all along in the million posts I had in favor of Teague, but I think you could add a guy like Teague and despite him being a huge talent upgrade and one of the best non super star point guards in the league you'd probably get like 5 wins max out of him with the lack of talent on the roster. If we were going to not completely bottom out, which obviously was the case, there was no reason to not go hard after him instead of lobbing Atlanta up an easy home run.

I'm so tired. So tired about talking about stuff like that. Teague would have this team looking so much better.

Should've just given him Carlos $6.5M and Miroslav's $3M on top of the $32M we offered. We'd be a much better team. Or ya know....traded for Bledsoe on a rookie deal. But whatever. :x

Even 5 wins could be the difference between 5 spots in the lottery. Last year 28 wins put you tied for 6th while 33 had you tied for 11th. I think this year there will be even more teams bunched around the 30-35 win mark. As much as every cited a tanking problem, I don't see it. Lots of young talent development is preventing that from occurring.

And honestly, Teague may have been worth more than 5 wins to this Bucks team, especially if Knight ends up being the PG that plays the most minutes. Not only would Teague be a massive talent upgrade, but he already knows the system that Drew is trying to implement.

I also think Teague would solidify the starting unit to the point where Sanders might not have been as ineffective to start the year (his poor start could also have been related to the club incident and thus time off the court). Given Sanders volatile personality, I don't think it's a stretch to say that thing might have turned out differently if he had played with Teague instead of Gary Neal as PG.

There's also the fact the Teague looks doing be doing pretty well the expanded playmaking role. His scoring has been pretty inefficient, but most of that seems to be related to slow start with his jumshot, something that'll likely creep up close to his career norm. Seems like his game could still be trending upward overall.

It the end I think it depends on 3 factors.

1) How much Teague progresses
2) How bad the Bucks are this year
3) What the lottery looks like 1-10 in terms of record

As I've said many times the past number of years, the recitals of what might have been will continue until such time Hammond/Kohl/Morway actually produce a really top tier player for us via draft, FA or trade.

Until we actually get a focal point player on this team worth following or truly open up a true tank and youth movement, there isn't much else to talk about other than the many whiffs this team takes every year in the player acquisition process.

Wasn't saying anyone else couldn't talk about it.

I'm not just going to be bringing up Teague on a regular basis myself.

I'm glad we didn't sign Teague. We probably are a playoff team without any hope for a draft pick or advancing. This is the year to bottom out.

To think he went a few spots after Darington Hobson. I was so pissed when we passed on him.

the guy had enough red flags that I'm surprised he was even drafted.
