We need to trade Drummond for a SF

Post#1 » by menten » Tue Nov 12, 2013 1:27 pm

he has gotten worse since he was named a starter at the end of last season. he cant score outside of dunks, is a horrible defender (yes, he is, watch the damn game) and doesnt block shots anymore for no reason whatsoever. we should trade him while he still has his high value. we might get a very good player in return.

He's also only 20 years old. You're definitely hitting the panic trade button.

yes, but i dont think he'll ever improve that much. he obviously doesnt enjoy basketball and being in the gym as much as tweeting and making retarted ass videos. plus he will always be a turd freethrow shooter and a liability at the end of games.

I think it's the best decision to trade him while the rest of the league still thinks he's the next dwight. hell he could be the centerpiece in a trade that could get us melo for example

You're saying we should trade our 20 year old center, with 4 more years of team control, who put up 14/14/4 per 36 and showed last year that he could end up the DPOY.................. Whatever you're on, I want some.

Because Drummond is a player with ridiculous upside. Build a pick and roll offense and take out the paint clogging players and you will see what he can do. Yes....he definitely needs to improve his defense....by a LOT. ..but he is still an extremely young player with absolutely elite athleticism. All he needs is more experience a d good coaching on D to help him out.

Pretty sure every team would jump up in joy if Drummond were made available for an SF(non-superstars).

The guy is the one with the most upside on the roster ...on a cheap rookie contract. Why would you even think of trading him?

Agreed with "No."

I too, want to trade for a SF. But I'm not willing to give up Drummond (save a superstar coming back our way). Our likely plan of action will be to dangle our expirings (Stuckey/CV) and/or Bynum (who's off to a good start this season) for a SF upgrade over Singler.

I would probably trade Drummond for Durant if that means anything

Only if that SF is one of Paul George, Kevin Durant and LeBron James.

Drummond's help defense could use work. A lot of work. As well as his man defense. It'll come. You don't trade walking double-doubles with no plays called for him. That's extra points and possessions with little to no direct input. He's almost the sole reason why Detroit's offense skyrocketed from the basement to well above average.

You want to trade drummond for what because he isn't playing like shaq in his 2nd season? First of all hes not even playing bad, and second he isn't even the pistons first, second, or 3rd option on offense so what kind of numbers are you expecting.

I think it is becoming clear that the Pistons need another shooter (or two or three), but that can happen without giving up Drummond. It's like saying you're hungry, so you should sell your car for a bag of groceries.

Trading Drummond equals no. Trading Monroe on the other hand I would be all for that!

We don't need to trade any of Smith, Monroe or Drummond for an SF. We just need some shooters on the bench, which does not require trading your core. If after this year (with plenty of 3 point capable shooters) this team still isn't cutting it, then the player to trade would be Smith. No way we trade one of Monroe or Drummond for an SF. Both have too much talent/potential, and this year Monroe is playing great offensively and defensively. Looks like he might have finally gotten his midrange jumper working too.
