Ugh! Stupid game in Denver tomorrow night. Scheduling losses annoy me.

Grades for tonight+some notes from the Kansas-Duke game (based on what I saw flipping between that and the Lakers game)

Blake: A
Meeks: A
Gasol: B+
Hill: A+++++++++
Johnson: B-/B

Farmar: B/B+
Kaman: A
Young: A+
Henry: A+
Williams: B+
Sacre: B+
Harris: B
Kelly: B+

Kansas-Duke Notes
-Wiggins is EXTREMELY athletic, Parker is deceptively athletic
-Both players played clutch basketball late in the 2nd half but they were both bothered by foul issues
-Kansas went small late in the game and they were routinely trying to find Wiggins in the low post which I thought was interesting
-Joel Embiid has massive potential-Bynum like rawness currently with above average passing
-Wayne Selden's strength was impressive, can definitely play combo guard in the NBA
-Perry Ellis had an impressive statline and was hustling but I didn't see much of him in the times I watched, definitely a top ranked draft prospect though in his own right
-Rodney Hood is another name to keep an eye out for

-If I had to give NBA comparisons based off this game, I'd say Parker is in the Carmelo Anthony/Paul Pierce mold while Wiggins is an Andre Igoudala/Tracy McGrady mix. Both have very high ceilings. I prefer Wiggins because his physical attributes allow him much more room to grow as a defender, but you can't go wrong with Parker either.

This starting lineup is what we need to continue to roll with even when Nash returns. I said it in another thread but having Blake, Meeks, Johnson, and Hill out on the floor gives us great athleticism and they help Pau out tremendously by preventing penetration.

The number of minutes aren't to be taken as precise numbers. It's the effectiveness of the playing time within the minutes that you have. In other words if Hill is killing it why would you take him out because he reached his number of minutes? Conversely why would you leave him in if he's ineffective? Sometimes the eyeball test dictates the number of minutes, especially if you're not a star.

I agree about the starting line up except the Pau thing. I don't know why he doesn't come off the bench if he continues to stink up the joint. If he finds his game (even for stretches) insert him back in.

Jodie Meeks so far this season: 52.6% from the field, 47.6% from three. Steve Black is about 49% from three. We should be running Ray Allen type plays for these guys!! Run them off of back screens, etc.

I thought the same thing but there was an angle they showed during the game (they showed it VERY breifly) that showed that the defenders heals were on the line.

After I saw it I was wondering why they didn't show it couple more times just to emphasis that it wasn't a charge. That would make sense to me.

Isn't there some new rule that the player has to be set before the shooter starts his upward shooting motion or something like that? I think they mentioned also that once the offensive player is in "the box" you can't draw a charge...
