We all agree that the current line-ups aren't going to work, and I would wager that Cheeks has felt the same way. problem is that he is trying to manage egos. Close losses aren't enough to justify reshuffling of line-ups early in the season, but blowouts with poor defense are.

I think Chauncey will step up and volunteer to lead the 2nd unit. He would be perfect to help guide KCP to his spots aka Rip.

Jennings/ Billups/Bynum
Stuckey/KCP
Smith/Datome/Singler
Monroe/Smith
Dre/Monroe

Maybe. We'll see. I think he'll trot out the same line-up for another 5 games or so.

I tend to agree with you. I think Dumars has hired lame duck coaches for awhile now and they all have one thing in common, they are too slow and stupid to realize that something isn't working so they wait way too long to make adjustments.

So the question I have: as the thread title says "That big loss was the best thing that could've happened", to WHICH BIG LOSS ARE YOU REFERRING? We've been whooped a couple in a row now and was curious WHICH BIG LOSS will cause the coach to finally be able to see the light that with the current lineup we have, we have been down by 15 pts in at least 3 games after the 1st quarter.

This was supposed to be one of the better defensive teams, instead its the WORST right now. I don't trust Cheeks one bit in fixing this.

So much talent that's not being allocated properly...

I thought it was just chemistry issues, but there's something definitely off with this team thus far.

I really hope that you are right.

You know our numbers were so much better than theirs in turnovers and steals, so we should've had a chance. But you know where the numbers severely outperformed ours? ASSISTS!!!

I'm really kind of frustrated with Joe Dumars for telling Brandon Jennings to be a shoot first player, right after he had his best game of the year with 21 points and 11 assists. Brandon's newfound selfishness has infected the rest of the team overnight, And now we're not even competing really.

Good passing leads to good shooting, because that's what passings for. So the more selfish a team is the worst shots are. The only teams that get by with little assisting is teams with one-on-one superstar scorers like Durant and Westbrook. Most basketball teams have to develop a pass first mentality hard to compete against skilled basketball teams. Joe Dumars has destroyed their chances of success by telling his Lead point guard to be shoot first.

So now, even if they do change the lineup which will help Brandon Jennings pretty much has to reject with Joe Dumars told him and go back to trying to be a pass first point guard. That and putting KCP in the starting lineup will help things out a little bit.

You won't have to look far to see people were never excited about the Cheeks hiring. Most just came to peace with it, because there isn't anything we could do about it. But, our expectations were so much higher than Cheeks. Especially when guys like Lionel Hollins, George Karl and more qualified candidates were available.

This roster is far from complete, that's another factor. The roster is completely unbalanced. We're starting two centers and a power forward as our starting front court, with a small point guard and ancient point guard next to him.

Right now, we're an awful defensive team, that still can't score efficiently.
