KCP for Afflalo Asap!!!

Post#1 » by BadMofoPimp » Wed Nov 13, 2013 3:57 pm

Afflalo has been playing spectacular.

Afflalo thus far: 19.5ppg 4.8ast 5.0rbp .9st .455fg% .462 from the 3

Personally, I don't think KCP will be better than Afflalo, thus I think the team should consider a salary dump of Jerebko or Bynum with KCP for Afflalo.

Pistons problems could be fixed.

Imagine a lineup of:

Jennings
Afflalo
Josh
Monroe
Drummond

World Domination!

Giving up KCP in his rookie season is exactly the kind of panic move i expect in a last effort from Dumars to save his job. I really, really like Afflalo but giving up KCP would be a tough pill to swallow.

Maybe Stuckey or CV and small incentive. It's too early to give up KCP.

Too early to give up on KCP. I'd rather see him in the SL than trade for Afflalo.

I doubt KCP ever breaks 43% shooting from the field and 38% 3 point shooting, but you never know. Afflalo has an all around game which he can dish assists, crash the boards and play defense. I doubt KCP even gets that close to being an all around player. I think Afflalo for KCP would be a steal, but people would rather roll the dice on a rookie than a for sure thing. I just really doubt KCP's ability to play ball at Afflalo's level. Heck, Knight looked much better after 9 games than KCP. Afflalo is still only like 28 years old and right on par with the rest of the team and is a top 10 SG in this league.

I will bring this up years from now win or lose regardless who ends up the better player for shyts n giggles. I have no problem eating crow, but if KCP is still a backup somewhere, I will gloat to high hell over homers praising another Darko instead of a for sure thing.

You think KCP is another Darko?

Already?

Despite the fact he gives effort Darko never gave. Keep in mind Afflalo shot 20% from three in his rookie year then increased it to 40% his second year and after a few years in Denver he really started shooting it with consistency. It took him some time to really find his niche.

Can we give it some time? We aren't as bad as our record.

Two things: 1) Detroit has zero depth in shooting guards. Why would you trade the only prototypical SG we have?
2) Why would Orlando want another rookie SG? They already have 'Dipo doing great things for them, and are developing him.

So, I would be all for trading for AA, but KCP wouldn't be the piece I'm using in the deal. I would offer Stuckey, Bynum and a future first round pick for AA.

Just saying that I think KCP's ceiling is Afflalo. Thus, why not Afflalo now and compete than wait a few years to see even IF he reaches Afflalo's level of playing. Just because he is an 8th pick rookie does that mean he will be a superstar. Usually, Superstars show more than what he has shown thus far.

KCP has only played in 5 games and only averaged 15.8mpg. In those minutes, his numbers are all solid. Not to mention he tries the hardest of any player on our team defensively. No one's saying he's going to be a superstar. We're just saying that he's the best SG on our roster right now and if put in the correct rotation could contribute quite a bit.

But, lets say his ceiling is being a top 10 SG in this league which Afflalo already is, then I would rather have a player who has reached that level of ceiling than a player who is questionable with a lower floor.

I will bet that Joe D will use that Stuckey and CV money next summer to sign a better SG.

I don't disagree that getting Afflalo would be great for this team. I just think that we could get him without trading KCP. I also don't see why Orlando would be interested in him seeing as how they have Oladipo. They won't try running him at PG for long.

May need a (3) team trade or something.

But, I am pretty certain that it would take a helluva lot more than Stuckey/CV/Bynum without throwing in KCP or something.
