Wigs also got in early foul trouble which stifled his ability to get comfortable early. Parker moved up on my board yesterday, but to me it's still Wiggins #1 and everyone else a very distant second.

Some of the experts question Wigs motor. Parker reminds me of James. He's got the range and the handle.jakecronus8 wrote:Wigs also got in early foul trouble which stifled his ability to get comfortable early. I'll take the humble, awesome Mormon kid. He won't be breaking bottles or hanging around the Jax types.

Parker is going to be able to score, probably better then even Wiggins, but I don't think he's going to do much else where Wiggins I think will give you a lot elsewhere. I'm not on the boat that Wiggins is some generational transcendent player, but I think he gives you a lot more to winning basketball games then Parker does. Like I said, I'd be ecstatic with Parker, but I don't think he's some surefire championship level keystone.
This is pretty much exactly where I am at too. Parker really impressed me and while I find it pretty easy to tear apart any collegiate player's game he would look really sharp in a Bucks jersey.
And I really think those three solidified their status as elite prospects.
With all the talk about Wiggins and Parker no one has even acknowledged that Randle TOOK APART MSUs entire frontcourt in the second half. I just haven't seen MSU dominated inside like that. But some of the guys expected to go in the 8-10 like Harrison and Cauley Stein looked really bad.
I REALLY want a top 3 pick. At least top 5. I don't want to fight for 30 wins and end up with #8.

Color me completely unimpressed with Wiggins last night. Both Randle and Parker looked like better prospects to me last night.

I wasn't paying complete attention until the 2nd half because of the Bucks game but yes Randle looked like nothing short of a monster.

Andrew Harrison was awful. If you guys are comfortable with taking him, you are on something. He should return to school next year because he has no idea how to run the point. Oh and I've never seen an entire team (Kentucky) cry about every foul. The only one I would take from that team is Randle.

I would still like him in a Bucks jersey. Not over any of the "Big 4" for sure (Wiggins, Parker, Exum, Randle), but one bad game against arguably the top defensive team in college basketball doesn't concern me in the least bit, nor should it cause us to develop knee jerk reactions about a player's long term potential.
On a related note, I thought James Young looked mighty impressive, at least on the offensive end. I'm really not on the Gary Harris bandwagon though. Sure, he seems to have a knack for finishing in traffic, but I don't think his skill set is going to translate well to the pros. He doesn't have elite quickness.

22 points on 9-15 shooting with 10 rebounds. He sure isn't very impressive.

Maybe if his name was Denise instead of Dennis.

NO ONE looks good in a Bucks uniform. But at least Parker's play would distract me from that fact.

One bad game? He has been unimpressive in 3 games. If you watched him, you can tell he doesn't have the passing skills or the ability to run a team. It shouldn't matter WHO you play against, you need those skills. He had 3 assists on a team full of talent as the PG. He wiped that out with 4 turns. He wasn't aggressive at all. He was constantly beat by Harris and Appling resulting in 4 fouls. He whined the entire game and got frustrated when things weren't going his way. I just don't see, outside of size and maybe athletic ability, how this guy is a top 10 pick. Of the 6 guards that started, he was the 5th best. And that is only because his brother was even worse.

I'm still sad we basically gave away a poor man's Parker in Tobias.

I think people are underestimating just how much Wiggins is likely to impact the game defensively, particularly once he fills out. You're looking at a perennial All-1st team kind of talent.

I think Wiggins has all the tools to be great, but really, who was the last superstar that seemed as passive as Andrew at the college level? I am well aware I am jumping to conclusions after one game, but I always worry about the "questionable motor" guys. Ben McLemore comes to mind as another guy cut from the same mold. Give me gamers like Oladipo and Parker all day.

Same could be said for "Gamers" like Beasly. It's a crap shoot it always has been.

"As an American, I wouldn't like to think that an American team would want to lose or create situations where you would want to lose," Krzyzewski said following Duke's 94-83 loss to Wiggins and Kansas.
As an American, I've always gotten kind of an American pedo vibe from the American Krzyzewski.

Besides Julius Randle, that entire Kentucky squad has been "unimpressive" to start the year. Is it really that surprising that an 18 year old true freshman point guard is struggling to run an offense with a bunch of guys he's never played organized basketball with before?
If this were even half way through the season, then it would be more concerning, but 3 games in? I think you're jumping to conclusions. Point guard isn't a position that you just master on day one. I'll take what scouts have been saying and John Calipari's recent track record with PG's (Rose, Wall, Bledsoe) over a 3 game sample size.

Re: '14 Draft Thread (Let's talk late lotto again! Yaaay!!)
My only real concern with drafting Parker is the possibility of him deciding he wants to go on a two-year mission trip. He'd probably figure that out half-way through his rookie year here.
