Astonishing Rebounding Stats

Post#1 » by Q00 » Thu Nov 14, 2013 5:36 am

I just noticed that we are 1st in the league in Offensive Rebounding and 30th in Defensive Rebounding

:o

I don't think I've ever seen such a stat for one team.

The fact that we are also giving up 49% FG and 8th most offensive rebounds might be even more mind-boggling though.

Generally if a team gets a high number of offensive rebounds on you, its because you've forced a lot of misses, thus resulting in a lot of rebounds to be had, but also a low FG%. For teams to be shooting 49% on us and still be giving up the 8th most offensive rebounds in the league is just insane to me.

A reflection of how easy it is for opponents to get in the paint leaving our bigs to pick up and leave the glass.

That is a startling statistic. I don't know what to even say about that? It's a lack of effort, coaching and general basketball fundamentals. Box out, people!

It's based off terrible offensive shooting on our part. Detroit has some of the worst deep shooters in the league. Let us also not forget that we score a lot of rebounds on put backs. I agree with the addition of Josh Smith we should be top ten at least in defensive rebounding.
