Re: ATL - Oladipo is Really Good (and Bledsoe dominant again
I heard the NBA is investigating JR Smith considering he basically said he was going to call in some favors to have people **** Jennings up.
Fundamentally, Jennings is right, and those guys he mentioned are clearly better than Chris Smith. I also find it hard to fault JR Smith, in principle, for backing up his little brother. But both guys are expressing themselves like idiots. You're going to kick Jennings' ass for saying there are better players than your brother outside the NBA? Guess what, JR? There are better players than you and Jennings outside the NBA, too. They're not playing in China, but they're out there. Mirotic, for example.

So... Dwight is stinking it up against the defensive might of Bargnani.

I'm so done w/ Dwight Howard. F#$% Dwight Howard. What has he ever done in the team game of basketball? And, yet, he continually gets all the media accolades a player could want. He's got a perfect match in McHale. He'll leave him in the game while Dwight continues to miss his FT's (but, careful, rumor has it he hits them all in practice) and continues to have no post game. It's fitting Bargnani is holding his own. Fitting. If I were Asik I'd want the hell out of Houston too. Their entire management is on the D Howard kool-aid. Yawn.

It wasn't popular opinion but in the offseason I said if I was Golden State or Houston I wouldn't want Dwight.
Maybe he takes the Rockets to a title, maybe not, but I'm standing by it. They need to hope they win a title before he f's it up because, rest assured, he will f it up.
Feel for Asik, he landed in the perfect spot, played great, then had it taken away by a massive douchebag.

Paul, I'm in your boat. I was feeling the exact same things. Re-signing Bogut at his deal was a much smarter organizational move than throwing all in for 'The Douche'. Whether Bogut remains healthy is another story. But, I simply can't stand Howard's overhyped game and his general ineffectiveness. He generally seems to lack heart. He takes all the attention. He's relatively unskilled beyond his athletic prowess. I'm just done wanting to hear a single thing about him until he's actually done something on the court that is worthwhile for a team.

Dwight actually had a good thing going in Orlando with SVG. Shame he didn't realize it and completely blew it.

He blew it because he has an over-inflated opinion of himself. And, I don't necessarily blame him considering how pathetic the mainstream media is when they cling onto their golden boys. But, it's sad. He has an innate gift. On a planet with billions of people he has an inimitable and completely unique gift and he's on the road to minimizing its potential because of hubris. Yawn.
In other news, I really don't enjoy this Rockets team. All the momentum Morey had developed and all the bold maneuverings for this? Don't enjoy McHale as a coach and I don't enjoy their style of play. This can obviously change but it's been a major disappointment imho.

I'm not watching it, but are Dwight and Andrea matching up on each other?

In fairness to Howard, eight-year-olds almost always don't know what is best for them.

Did the Knicks actually think they could pry away Faried for Shumpert straight-up? Please say this isn't so.

Harden's game is based almost entirely around finding a nearby defender and dribbling sideways full speed at them to draw contact and heave the ball at the rim. It's simultaneously incredibly effective and scratch my eyes out ugly.

Shump is good, Faried is not.

Pea heart Dwight still can't hit free throws. Also if he had any kind of brains he'd try to keep his block shots in the court, maybe to a teammate.

Fatty Felton with the stupidest foul this year, running into Harden about 2 seconds after he missed a 3.

Howard reminds me of McGrady. For some reason their on court body language just really pisses me off. I'm sure they are into it and that they care, but you just don't have that killer instinct glare. I really doubt Howard ever wins one. Perhaps Houston will get another big player and they he will just be along for the ride.

One hack totally changed the game there.

Shump is good, Faried is not.
Sell me. Seriously. I know both are highly prized across the league. And, it was largely believed NY needed to sweeten the pot w/ a draft pick in addition to Shumpert. I'd love to hear your rationale. Thanks.
