Talent wise they are very similar: (i) freakish athleticism, (ii) potential for all NBA defensive team and ( iii ) some holes in the offensive game, that separates them from being an all-star.

One of the advantages Shumpert has is the height. He is tall for a shooting guard. Also, I think the power forward position is easier to fill in the NBA.

You cant knock the Hustle! Faried is undersized but plays big.

Faried definitely doesn't have All-Defense potential.
You're right though that PFs are far more replaceable. SG has the least depth in the league.

Unless your Grizzles, Pacers, Jazz or other teams who already have two great bigs, they are only ones who would even consider giving up a guy like Faried for someone like Shumpert. Nuggets have decent bigs, but still no reason to give him up.

I'd rather have Shump still here... it's just Woodson's FN with him with his insane rotations/lineups... The Knicks do need a PF to start who can "consistently" both offensively & defensively... But it does appear that Shump is a goner.. I like Faried and I wanted us to draft him...
