No team tanks from day 1.....the tanking begins when team realize they can't do squat and reach their objectives for the season

We suck right now,we aren't tanking....we WILL tank by March-April if we can't get a shot at the playoffs

Only a moron would think that if this team doesn't have a shot at the playoffs, they will still go hard and play the games to win just because we have a history of winning and glory behind us...

And you have to be a bigger moron not to tank if the scenario above happens

That's the team's mindset

Now as a fan,you can say and hope for whatever the **** you want......I for one am 100% on the tanking wagon and couldn't give two **** of y'all thought process about this
My mindset is this : win the ring or if you can't ,at least get better for next year....guess what,we CAN'T win the ring and I'm not going to wait and hope for FA fairytales...I'm taking the sure thing
And before some one comes here and tells me "well, you can't be sure with the draft either"...guess what, this year you can

I'm not rooting for a Milwaukee Bucks ...rather be a Thunder and suck for a year or two and then get back on top

When Kobe returns healthy, SF is definitely the spot for him. Nick backs up Meeks and Wes for Kobe. Meeks deserves his starter's spot. Kobe can be the post threat.

I woke up at 5:30 am, checked nba.com at halftime on my mobile, saw it's tied and said whatever. We're not getting past the 1st round if we even make the playoffs, I'm actually glad we lost.

Nick Young had to miss that 3rd free throw we didnt have any more time outs. Mike D gave him the signal to miss it

Ya I've been a fan for over 15 years now, watched nearly every game up until last season where I just lost the desire to watch games towards the end. This year it's even worse, and I find myself rooting for losses due to how we have no shot at advancing in the post season. Hate on me all you want, but with our squad and the injuries we're already facing the smart thing to do this year is to tank. Unfortunately I feel Kobe will be back early and we'll win enough games to be the "9th seed".

I'm not saying tank but talking about playoffs like we are a sure thing to make it is dumb

I get you and Micheal Lucky like this tank fantasy, but what you fail to realize is that even if they did end up in the lottery what in hell makes you think they'll end up number 1 ?

The NBA lottery is so damn jacked up there has been about 7 times that I'm just coming off the top with that the team with the worst record DIDN'T end up with the #1 pick. Hell it just happened last summer, no way in hell the Cavs were suppose to end up with the #1 pick. The lottery is flawed as hell.

And I'm not so sure a top 10 pick is going to turn this team around over night. And both times the Lakers were in the lottery they were 10th and 11th...Eddie Jones and Andrew Bynum. Good players but not franchise changers.

Franchise changers only come one way....

Free agency.

And that's where this teams next franchise player is coming from, not the draft lottery. Yeah I get one good draft pick can help the team going forward but it's not going to put us over the top in terms of being elite.

And this scenario of what I speak of is more likely to happen than what most of the "tanking camp" is rooting for.

I agree with this, because our post play is non existent. Kobe is more of a playmaker than Pau or Chris. Kobe demands more of a stronger double team but at the same time teams would be wary coming hard at Kobe due to fact this team is laced with 3 point makers ( we don't have shooters on this team...too streaky) who can keep those double soft at the most.

@ Deep...it's not just the no.1 pick, there are are 3 sure fire bets everyone knows who they are, another 2-3 players oozing with potential who might be better down the road(Embiid,Exum) and other All-Star potential players

It's not a "Geez,we have to have the no.1 pick or we're screwed " draft......every team in the lottery will get a really good player

As far as FA,you got to be kidding me....how is it more likely to land a superstar FA(Lebron,Carmelo, etc) than landing one through the draft? The Big 3 from this year draft are all superstars in the making and will be 19 yrs old and not 30 as the FA's we're hoping for.....

How is it harder? We suck enough and get one of them FOR SURE,not like FA's....we might get lucky,Bulls had a less than 2% to land the top pick and Rose,Cavs the same with Irving(they were supposed to get the 8th pick based on record)

You make some great points man, but at the same time nothing is guaranteed. Yeah we don't actually have to get the number 1 pick, but by my readings only about the first 5 players in this coming draft will go where they're slotted to go.

Now I do like Exum...dude is a stud of a big man and that's truly where we have to start as far as building for the future. And as far as the free agents that I think of it's not the ones that the general fans of this team think of. So yeah I get it no wanting a 30 year old FA, I'm thinking of K.Love maybe Westbrook. Those guys will still be in their 20's when it's time for them to make that decision.

I don't think about Lebron or Melo, these guys are using up their prime now.
