Knicks targeting Rondo

Post#1 » by shmeakone » Sun Nov 17, 2013 10:49 pm

@FisolaNYDN 3m

Knicks targeting Rajon Rondo but a Boston deal with Houston (Asik & Lin) makes sense. Ainge, McHale & Daryl Morey all have Celtics ties.

I feel like we need a separate thread for this just because this trade talk might be going on for a while.

I just can't imagine Ainge making a trade with the Knicks when he has those kind of ties with the Rockets / better options.
My lifetime better have a Knicks championship.

I can't believe that Asik/Lin for Rondo trade is generating such traction. It started from a Sam Smith opinion piece where he pondered on the possibility of a trade and now it's turned into this. I'll wait till Woj says there's something in the works.

Amare/Felton/Shump is the package.

LOLOLOL at the thought of Ainge even considering that.

Child please.

man that'll suck. as unrealistic as it is to have rondo come here, it's basically the only thing that had me hopeful in winning championship with a core of melo rondo and tyson. i fully expect that deal with houston to happen though. it makes the most sense for those teams.

This is Isola talking out of his ass pretending to have a scoop. Nothing will come of this Rondo to NY talk.

He gets cap space, plus you know the Knicks are giving him at least two future firsts. :(

The Knicks would be undermanned until at least Jan

Like the Faried deal wasn't real?

It's just unrealistic for us...

1. We're in the same division as the Celts
2. Houston has more/better assets than we do

I think the only shot the Knicks really have is the fact that they would take on Wallace's & Lee's contracts. I don't think Houston would be willing to do that.

Shump, Felton, Amare, any 1st rounders possible

for

Rondo, Wallace, Lee

Surely this is the only way to get Rondo (long shot though). But, would you kill the 2015 plan to get him here now?

The best Christmas gift for me is to have Rondo coming to NY.

Whatever it takes to keep Melo.

There's no 2015 plan if there's no Melo. Unless you want only Love on your team, that is if he would come on an empty squad in the 1st place.

Deal should be something like this, Boston is not going to trade with the Knicks unless they come out on top.
Rondo, Wallace, Brooks, Lee

with the Knicks giving up
Shump, Felton, Amare, TH jr( traded to a third team for a late first), 2018, 2020 1 first round draft pick + 3 mill.

Anything less than that Boston won't even consider it and even that a lot of teams can top it because they are not desperate to trade Wallace and Boston doesn't not get a young prospect from this deal. No one is going to pay to see amare sit on the bench. I just don't see Rondo to the Knicks happening.

it makes sense for them if they want to lose more games, i.e. tank nation, project: maple jordan etc.

Not only that, but Ainge would insist on the Knick #1 in 2018 and probably 2020.

Honestly, with neither the Knicks or Nets having a #1 in 2014, 2016, and 2018, they might as well disband both New York franchises.

We can "target" Rondo all we want. But we don't have anything that would make Ainge send Rondo within their division to the NY KNICKS. Wishful thinking...

Healthy rondo with harden and Dwight make Houston a legit threat in the west to reach the conference finals.

Return to New York Knicks
