Detroit and Houston....

Post#1 » by DetroitDon15 » Mon Nov 18, 2013 4:21 pm

I am posting a trade. Since everyone seems to be doing, this deal works well for both I think.

Detroit Gets:
C Omar Asik
F Chandler Parsons

Houston Gets:
F Greg Monroe
F Kyle Singler
F Jonas Jerebko

Why for Detroit? Detroit gets a good wing scorer and natural small forward. Detroit also gets a new back-up for the 5 and 4 with Asik. Omar easily plays 30 plus a night. Josh Smith also moves back to PF where he belongs.

Why for Houston? They upgrade at the four with Monroe. A trio of Howard, Monroe, and Harden will give Houston their own big three. Singler becomes a reserve wing off the bench. Jerebko is in for cap purposes and might give them minutes.

Asik is a center who wants big minutes. If he didn't want to play behind Howard, I fail to see many indicators of playing behind Drummond.

If rondo comes back and plays great I wouldn't mind offering something like greg and jennings for rondo and jeff green.

If i were Joe Dumars I would say that any deal with Monroe going to Celtics doesnt happen unless Bradley is included

Bradley is average at best. I don't really want him. I personally don't want Rondo either. Has he even played a game this year?

Detroit could get him 30 a night easy here.

15 at PF and 15 at center or 30 at center while sliding Drummond over to PF for 15.

Asik as a backup big man for the PF and C position is a perfect dream for us.....sometimes if we wanna play big we can move Parsons to the two and Smith at the three to creating rebounding problems for the other teams

A major reason of why Howard went to Houston was because of Parsons. Not gonna happen buddy!

It doesn't fit for us as well, but I don't see a trade like this happening unless you maneuver salaries and replace Parsons with Lin. Lin's not happy as a backup. He could start at the 2 for us, temporarily, while we figure something out. Lin's actually a pretty good player now.

Of course, although the salary cap hit for both Lin and Asik is only 8.3 mil/year each, they both get paid a whopping 15 million next year, as the both signed 3/25 deals that pay at 5/5/15. Unless we're getting some other salary relief, I doubt Gores is down for that. Jerebko helps a little, but probably not enough.

Houston wanted to give him 30 a night also. Asik wants to start and be paid at least $10M. I'm not siding with him over Drummond.

Houston never gave him 30. If it didn't work out, we could always flip him after the fact.

The Anderson/Gordon for Monroe/expiring trade looks pretty enticing right now!! Smith and Anderson can play cross match on the offensive end so smith is comfortable at the 4 while Anderson keeps knocking them threes

Houston already tried that with Howard, it failed miserably and they benched him in favor or Jones or Donatas.

It definitely won't work here.

It doesn't work with Houston with a more talented center and better outside shooters but it would work here in Detroit? haha

I'd consider this deal if we can 3-way Asik somewhere else for assets...

In regards to your idea, I like it. If Asik could be moved for pieces, I'd more than happy with the results.

These proposals are assuming that we have a good handle on the current roster and how they will work together after a few months together... until then I have no interest.
