Knicks targeting Rondo

I did the trade in my 2k association mode even before the story broke.

I absolutely love seeing Rondo in a Knicks jersey, and his passing skills and bulldog attitude just match what we need. I really hope this happens, even if this year is a write off next year will be better with a full season of Melo playing with the best PG he's ever had.

NBA 2k is about the only place where Rajon Rondo will be traded to the Knicks.

Because for some reason Amare's trade value is 3 outta 5 stars...2K botched that one.

Agreed and Knicks had nobody on their roster that Nuggets would take for Melo either.

I don't see Rondo pulling a Melo with 2 more years on his deal

Carmelo has been trying to get traded all summer to either the Chicago Bulls or the New York Knicks. Both teams will be major players in the Carmelo Anthony Sweepstakes come July 2011 if Melo plays out the final year of his contract in Denver.

And Rondo continues to insist that all changes considered, he wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.
“I love it here, the fans are great here, (president of basketball operations) Danny (Ainge) has been straight with me, so why would I want to leave?” he said. “Why would I want out? This is a brand new start for us as a team.”

You can create scenarios all you want, but as of now, the two situations aren't even in the same ballpark.

I agree. They aren't even remotely the same.

On top of that, Boston probably wouldn't care even if Rondo wanted out. He has 2 years on his deal. They don't have to listen to him at all until next February

All it took was Felton, Amare and Shumpert. Got Rondo and Kris back.

[the Knicks don't value draft picks and include at least one draft pick, 1st or 2nd, in every trade they make. It has nothing to do with the value of trading of Novak or acquiring Bargnani.

it says it on the flyer: if you shop with the knicks, you'll get one draft pick GUARANTEED. No other team makes that offer. And the Knicks stand by their guarantee.

Not even sure Rondo fits this team that well. Hasn't he been known to dribble the ball for too long causing stagnation? It seems Melo already does that at times. We don't need another guy doing it. Plus he can't hit a jumper so teams will sag off him not allowing the spacing needed for Melo to operate.

Exactly. Rondo is the kind of player that can transform this team just with his IQ. Doesn't matter if he can't shoot, his speed and lateral quickness will put other teams off balance generating easy buckets. Knicks needs to find a way to get him.

Rondo is almost the last of a kind but doubt Boston will trade him and plus the Knicks don't have the assets to get him.
