Are our guards ignoring drummond

A lot of times I see him set a pick and rolling toward the rim but he never gets it back. Or he's posting up some 6'8 stretch 4 and doesnt get the ball. It seems with his soft hands that he is under utilized for isolation plays that end up becoming a double team and a missed shot or turnover.
Drummonds athletic almost like D12 from orlando so why is he never get the ball. From what ive seen he has a soft touch from in close and can catch pretty well.

Are the pistons making a mistake here, or am I just overrating him a bit ?

He could and probably should get a few more chances, but with high usage players such as Jennings, Smith, and Monroe, there aren't enough shots to go around.

That said, he's not a great option right now. He goes up weak if there's someone in front of him, and his post moves are a work in progress.

I would like to see more attempts to get him the ball on low screens with Monroe or Smith. If you aren't already in front of him, you aren't going to get there -- he's quicker than pretty much any big in the league.

Aside from Monroe & Will Bynum, everyone ignores Drummond.

Although I did see Stuckey find him in Sac & Jennings in LA for the first time.

Im of the opinion he should also be getting 4 or 5 touches on the block per game to get reps on his jump hook. Our future is really contingent on his development.

Drummond has no real offensive game at this point and has been very lackadaisical to start the season. I don't think he's being ignored nor do I think he needs more touches.

There is an obvious dropoff between this years Drummond and lasts. I get that he's the golden boy, but he's not a superstar yet- he's got a few things to learn and he needs to play with the same intensity that he had last year if we plan to be a halfway decent defensive team.

Just wondering what do you think dwight had drummond doesnt have yet. I havent seen a single pick and roll for him and I havent had much a gauge on his hands.

Literally every single stat aside from blocks says the complete opposite.

& no Drum isnt a superstar yet, 80 ish games into his career, shockingly lol

Drummond has played with energy and effort this year, but not consistently. He hasn't been blocking shots I expect him to block and I don't know if its because his timing is off or whatever, but he has not been consistent. 2nd half of the Kings game is the kind of effort I expect.

drummond is fine. someone mentioned earlier IF he looks to be lazy it might just be conserving energy to play for the longer minutes he is playing now. i dont really see the problem with him pretty much getting a double double night in and night out.

i personally think he is fine, he'll get better when he starts developing a post game. until then he can get his easy 10-12 and 10+ rebounds every night

he has been lazy getting back on defense sometimes, but thats the only thing i would point out as a problem

people are nitpicking here

That's a bit overstated, don't you think? I know he's having some problems, but there's a big difference between being a 35 mpg starter and a 20 mpg reserve (for a lot of the year). He's pacing himself more, which he pretty much has to do as a big. There's some concern, but I wouldn't say he's "not playing with effort". I would say he's making more defensive mistakes than I'd like, but he's yet to play one full NBA season's worth of games.

I dont think hes being ignored at all. TBH, I cringe everytime Drummond attempts a low post move because you know what you are gonna get. He either jumps and forces the shot over the defender or he does that ugly fade away of his. He just doesnt have any serviceable offensive game at the moment other than lobs and putbacks.

D12 back in Orlando are miles ahead than Drummond right now, its not even close. D12 has the postmoves needed to move his defender away because of his footwork, strength and athleticism. He was an underrated passer back in those days aswell.

So yeah, thats Drummonds scouting report.

or he hits a nice jump hook as hes done many times this year.

D12 at 20 is behind where Drummond is, thats not debatable.

^^ and that was with early foul trouble. nobody is saying drum is perfect. he probably had more tweets yesterday than made free throws all year, but where our team is now, he is fine. im not about to nitpick a 7 foot 280 man not running fast enough down the court for 40 minutes when he is 20 and is putting up double doubles night in and out

we can find something else to whine about guys that makes more sense lol there is plenty to choose from on this team
