I disagree.
He is a very key piece and as elite a 2nd option as you can get

You realise that if you had said this outside of our the confined Clips forum you would've been eaten alive for calling '94 Malone the GOAT PF peak, let alone calling Blake a top 2 PF peak at age 25 (or 24?)

So this threads timing couldn't get much better with Griffin winning player of the week this week :P

Unless they're getting back KD or LBJ, why would you even consider trading him?

The problem with that line of thinking is that the only players that the Clippers would feel comfortable in giving him up for are not available.

Griffin has not improved at the rate everyone expected (mainly due to injuries), however he is a hard worker and this season it looks like he is ready to step up. Definitely worth keeping. Like someone said, LBJ & KD are the only players we would trade griffin for and let's face it, neither the heat nor okc would agree to that.

Blake's bigger issue is that he started off playing too well and people expected some exponential statistical growth. If you look at a Duncan, he actually peaked quite early in general. Blake's shooting and defene have improved, but of course more shooting improvement, especially at the FT line would be nice.

BG, i think, is about the same as he started with of course slight improvements in certain aspects... what does that mean? he's consistent. face it, he was already an allstar as a rookie, 1-2 improvements (free throws and a more consistent mid range) and he's a superstar... he's already shown that he's improving in his mid range, now if he can only hit that free throw and he's a superstar.

real basketball fans know this, haters and people that want to be relevant don't. remember, sports broadcasters are idiots, they just have more resources than the average person, but that just means they're idiots with sources.

Don't forget defense.

He came in with the ability to put All-Star numbers. He's continually improved his scoring efficiency. Like you said, basically the main 3 improvements he needed were:
1) Defense
2) Free throw shooting
3) Jumpshot

The bonus improvements would be:
1) Decisiveness in the post / post moves
2) Face up game

About every one of those things has had some sort of improvement, some more than others. I think it is the Malone comparisons that made people start expecting him to become a 25+ PPG scorer, but that wasn't as reasonable as people think.

Ah yeaaa i forgot... lol.. i always put defense as a Team thing so i never really put that down as an individual goal. I think he's a good defender imo, although he doesn't get blocks as much, he def makes up for it with activity, steals, and strength.

not exactly realistic.

who is the better superstar than blake that his team is willing to trade for? lebron isn't available, carmelo is a volume shooter just like kobe, D Rose is redundant at PG, dirk is old as dirt, and howard is overrated.

the idea is noble, but there is no better option. we are gonna ride blake for better or worse.
ehhhhh f it.
