Yeah, posted for the comedy of the article. Guy thinks Ike Davis for Braun (and the Brewers eat his salary).

Maybe the Mets can strike while the iron is hot and offer up Ike Davis for Miggy and a dump truck full of cash.

Definitely didn't expect a trade and so soon too.

I doubt the mets would do this, but I would take an injured Harvey for Braun

Apparently, there is a rumor that (now former) Tigers top prospect Avisail Garcia had an affair with Prince Fielder's wife, which caused Fielder to demand that Garcia be traded. Lo and behold, Garcia is traded as part of the Peavy/Iglesias trade.

Fielder had some off the field issues as well with some ladies. Heard through a random source but I saw no reason for it to have been made up.

Jim Bowden is (Please Use More Appropriate Word).

Former general manager Jim Bowden proposed a trade or free agent signing that he thought could help each team in baseball. He proposed the Brewers trade pitcher Wily Peralta to the California Angels for first baseman C.J. Cron.

"Although the Angels would prefer to hold on to Cron, if they can get the right starting pitcher, it would be a surprise if they didn't trade him," Bowden wrote in his ESPN Insider blog.

A 23 year old first baseman that put up a .780 OPS in AA for a young MLB pitcher. The "California Angels"...really?

I like the way the offense is shaping up. We have a couple big caveats, of course, but find the hole in this offense:

1 - Segura
2 - Gomez
3 - Braun
4 - Lucroy
5 - Ramirez
6 - Davis
7 - Hart
8 - Gennett

Yeah that is a pretty damn good lineup, the only thing I fear about the trade is that RRR decides to throw Gennett at the top of the order because he is a "contact guy." Though I guess they used to have Weeks up there back in the day who is a polar opposite. You have him at 8 and I like it there.

I think one more lefty platoon guy would be useful. I'm assuming Fat Juan is one of them, I guess Gindl...Hunter Morris maybe not?

Normally I'd be fine with Gennett and Weeks platooning at the top, provided they get on base at that .340-.350 range. But you look at that lineup and if you believe Segura is closer to the guy we saw in the first half than the train wreck he was in the 2nd, I don't know where else you could bat Gennett and Weeks other than 8th.

Agreed. There's no way Gennet should be batting in the hop half of this lineup under any circumstance

Gennett had a .330 OBP in AAA. He's going to be a bottom of the order guy. I guess in the most ideal platoon he and Weeks find a way to get .340, but I as you guys know I'm pessimistic on Scooter. I feel a .260/.310/.370/.680 season coming. Maybe platooning will help keep him close to .700.
