I think Detroit wants to win now and Sacramento wants to win now. Tell them to give us their pick, we'll give them Melo and we get back, say Josh Smith & Stuckey/Charlie V. Fine, it's like 30 cents to the dollar, but we get the 2014 pick.

Sacramento has new owners, they want to win now too. Trade them whoever they want from our team, but give us the pick.

Do you mean top a 5 LOTTERY PICK?

By the way any of those teams we trade Melo to will make the playoffs and give us a crap pick.

Once again, WE NEED TO WIN THIS YEAR because no one will trade us a lottery pick.

Rebuild in the draft AFTER this one, at least we keep our own pick and can actually tank instead of wishing a team we trade Melo to doesn't make the playoffs.

to be quite honest, i don't care about lottery. Just having a 1st round pick is all i want

Let's face it, the only way Melo leaves is if he decides to on his own. If things are decided by the trade deadline hopefully he would let the Knicks know so they could get something.

Reality post.
If Chris Paul wants Melo, and Doc Rivers wants Melo- then I believe Melo would accept a trade. Dominant pt gaurd, defensive Center.

Ofcourse , will the owner give us Blake--b/c that would be the trade straight up. it's b/c Melo can nix any trade that I don't see a better, younger player that we can get.

false. he misinterpreted what i said, and i explained further what was it that i meant. the clippers are also 8-4. they're not going to **** that up for the sake of making a trade. at best that would be a lateral move, nevermind that blake is younger and is more marketable then melo. there's zero chance that trade happens.

Yeah, I guess I needed to mention that I believe the Clippers will fail miserably. they are not interested in a shiny record. I don't believe in that team as a playoff team, and at best they will fail in the 2nd round.
this is where the trade possibility comes in.
Having said that...any trade getting a good haul for Melo is a long shot.

Felton and a 2nd Round Pick for Brandon Knight

Knight is a better shooter, ball handler, penetrator, defender and younger

we offer the Bucks Felton, future 2nd Rounders and Cash

I proposed this on the Raps trade thread:

NY gets: Rudy Gay, Kyle Lowry
Toronto gets: Amare Stoudamire, Iman Shumpert

Temporarily fixes your PG problem and Gay can come off the bench as a 6th man or play with Chandler-Melo-JR-Lowry in a small-ball lineup.

What do you guys think of it?

Knicks get - Goran Dragic (PHX), Gerald Green (PHX), & Jason Smith (NOP)

Suns get - Raymond Felton (NYK), Eric Gordon (NOP) & future 1st (NYK)

Pelicans get - Tyson Chandler (NYK) & JR Smith (NYK)

Knicks do this deal in hope that Goran Dragic can take that next step & be a great PG for the team. Helping Shumpert's development & feeding Melo & Bargs at the right time. Come 2015, Dragic would be on contract still for 7.5 & with PG not being a main need to target in FA, we could target Kevin Love & Marc Gasoline both, to pair with Melo.
Dragic-Shumpert-Melo-Love-Gasol. 6th man- Timmy.

Suns acquire a player they've wanted for awhile & now it's even sweeter because they have an energetic, high-octane PG in Eric Bledsoe to pair Eric Gordon with. They still have Emeka Okafor & his expiring, their 2 1st round picks in this upcoming draft & now a future pick from the Knicks. They might as well flip Emeka's expiring & maybe Frye for a SF on the block because there's really no dominant SF as a FA next year. Maybe another player they wanted, Rudy Gay?
Core: Bledsoe, Gordon & Gay?

Pelicans turn Eric Gordon & his 2 more seasons into Tyson Chandler & his 1 more season. Tyson Chandler played with Anthony Davis in the Olympics & can provide good leadership, while shifting Davis to PF like he should be. JR can also fill in for Gordon on a very good value contract that he's on.

This works:

http://basketball.realgm.com/tradecheck ... de/6359233

Amar'e, Omer and Lin to Boston
Rajon, Wallace and Humphries to New York
Bargnani, Felton, Shumpert to Houston

New York gets Rondo, which will make it more likely that Love will sign up with them, while getting rid of STAT. It should also satisfy Melo.

Houston gets Shumpert, a lock-down perimeter defender who can start with Harden; Bargnani has been playing well, and he can play both stretch-4 and has the size to fill in for Dwight; Felton can be garbage time PG.

Boston gets rid of Wallace and Humphries, gets a high quality defensive center and real point guard. They're going nowhere anyway and will eventually lose Rondo one way or the other.

Boston is probably getting the worst deal here, but they're going to tank anyway, with or without Rondo.

From a Knick perspective I would do that deal in a heart-beat.

Gay / Stat deals end at same time and Lowry is on a 1-year deal.

Knicks get a starting pg and a legit starting SF to pair next to Melo as a PF.

Don't really see any downside from Knicks perspective.

From Toronto perspective --- not sure how Shump fits given Derozan is already there at SG. Don't see either player as legit SF's.

I'd definitely do it. Not sure Bucks would unless we're giving them serious cash

They'll lose Rondo eventually? How can you be so sure about this?

Celtics have a horrible team but with some positives that are really interesting (to Rondo). I hope they tank, get a good player in the draft and continue building. A mixture of reloading/rebuilding imho. I can see them be competitive in 2 years again if the draft pans out. By that time the bad contracts are gone and you got cap space.

Boston isn't going to let go of Rondo that easil and take garbage in return, even when they aren't going anywhere season.

if the knicks are to trade melo, they'd have to do it before the trade deadline. he can just walk away for nothing where ever he wants to go in the off season.
