The Kansas City Royals have agreed to a four-year, $32 million deal with Jason Vargas.
Vargas is expected to fill the hole created by Ervin Santana, who is also a free agent.
The left-hander was 9-8 with a 4.02 ERA in 24 starts for the Los Angeles Angels last season.
