I don't even care if we get Wiggins, but I still want to try and get a top pick. Being the best in the worst division, in the worst conference...isn't something to hang your hat on. Plus, up to this point, our schedule has been pretty easy with us facing a lot of EC teams, where most of the EC have been getting dominated by the WC teams.

Once we start to go up against those teams in the West and the underachieving teams in the East make adjustments/trades, to make a playoff push, the Raptors will lose and probably drop to the 6th-10th range. I just don't like this whole plan of hoping that we can fluke into a high playoff seed. It has shades of 2006-2007 all over again and we all know how that turned out. We got owned in the first round and it probably set us back for years.

Then, even if we do make the playoffs, there is still the chance of Lowry and Gay leaving. Which would make our "winning" season an even bigger disaster. This is frustrating. I'm not even the group of tankers that wants a fire sale...I just want to make smart moves that helps us in the long-term, no more of this stupid short sighted planning.

Anybody who watches these games and knocks Wiggins' draft stock simply doesn't have a clue. Look past the counting stats at his entire impact on the game and how in control he is despite his lack of inexperience (he plays like a 4 year senior rather than a 4 game freshman). Tonight, during the few times he covered Benimon, Towson's best player, he was notably able to stop him (which nobody else on the team could do), emphasizing again his defensive potential. With every game he plays, he continues to prove what a smart, efficient, and multifacted player he is. It's very impressive to see these characteristics in a prospect this early in his college career.

But Embiid in that first half...wow. Guys with his skill set, vision and size are just so rare. What a ridiculous prospect. Any team that's tanking (hopefully the Raptors if they know what's good for them) should be tanking for him as much as anybody else in this draft.

Playmaking is what I'd say he needs to develop for him to reach the level of a Pippen, but boy, the way he can dominate a game defensively is Pippen-esque imo.

With Masai Ujiri...the Godfather of African basketball...the man who brought us Solomon Alabi, Carlos Morais and had interest in Giannis Atentouasouapospo (transplanted Nigerian Greek guy)...there's always a chance he tries to move mountains to manoeuvre his way to take him in the lottery. Now...would he ever take Embiid over Wiggins if the opportunity arose?

He's averaging 17 pts on 10 shots a game and he's shooting 59% from the field.

I don't see why not. Honestly, based on what I've seen so far, I might take Embiid over Wiggins due to his massive ceiling too.

That lay up attempt at 2:13, shows off his athletic capabilities to first explode to the rim, and then to stop on a dime for that lay up. Just a graceful physical specimen, he's like a pogo stick.

Embiid is super impressive...the comparisons to Thabeet don't fly for me, he looks so much more mobile than Thabeet and has incredible touch around the basket which Thabeet never had. Hell, Embiid seems like a better passer than Wiggins despite being a center.
