A deal that MAKES SENSE with the RAPTORS

Post#1 » by onetwothree » Sun Nov 24, 2013 5:19 am

Clearly Josh Smith and Greg Monroe isn't working out well for Detroit.
Kind of like how Demar Derozan and Rudy Gay is making the ball stick in Toronto.

I think it makes too much sense for Raptors and Pistons to be trade partners. what do you guys think of these potential trades. Would they be beneficial to both parties? Are they realistic?

Salaries are no problem for a Detroit and Toronto Trade as there is cap flexibility in Detroit's part and there are expirings which could be used and even a trade exception Toronto got.

A Trade would involve

TORONTO GETTING:
Josh Smith, OR
Greg Monroe + Someone that makes salary work = Charlie V, Rodney Stuckey (depending on who you get in return)

DETROIT GETTING
Rudy Gay, OR
Demar Derozan

Demar Derozan and Rudy Gay are both Go-To scorers - especially in crunch time. They are playoff type players that will help in finishing games off ( esp. rudy)

Demar and Brandon are both from Compton so they will be happy playing together and there is potential for a very long stay.

Raptors Lineup
JV, Monroe (or Smith), Rudy Gay (or Demar Derozan), Terrence Ross, Kyle Lowry

Pistons LIneup
AD, Smith (or Monroe), Rudy Gay, Stuckey, Jennings

Gay works especially well for a good and interesting run in the playoffs. If demar was to come, what would happen to SF.

whose JJ?

Val and T Ross... we are trying to be realistic here. That deal is everything but realistic.

You're going to play Val or AD at Centre?

Are you guys trying to make a playoffs run or package together prospects? Cuz once all of those prospects finsih their rookie contracts, it will be just like harden and OKC. you will lose someone for nothing.

*Edit: JJ as in Jonas Jerebko? Now I don't know if you were being sarcastic or if that was a real post. So much for realism.

If they do decide to trade one of them, I do think this is a deal Joe would consider. He has already shown interest in Gay once this summer. (Twice actually if you count Collins lol)

Theres no way they're giving up Val, and definitely not for that.

We offerred CV+Rodney Stuckey for Gay. That's exactly what our FO thinks Gay is worth at this point, and having seen Gay's play this season, we'd be better off just keeping the expiring for a better deal. What your proposing is completely unrealistic so i thought i counter with a unrealistic offer.

Are you guys trying to make a playoffs run or package together prospects? Cuz once all of those prospects finsih their rookie contracts, it will be just like harden and OKC. you will lose someone for nothing.

Okay? 1 your completely wrong in your assessment, we could do a S&T at seasons end for moose, or even trade him later on in the season, and most definitely get back a better player than Gay or DD. , 2. how is trading monroe for Gay gaining anything? Your trying to dump your inefficient scorer for our young multi position big. If moose is going out, Val is coming in.

Again if you think that , any deal with moose and gay makes any sense, then JJ for Val should make just as much sense

Rudy Gay can't shoot. He's inefficient.

Yes because Gay and Derozan have been great go to scorers in Toronto.

Return to Detroit Pistons
