At this point pierce and KG should have retired last year, and its kinda sad to see them like this.

Not sad at all, as you said Karma's a bitch and they are getting it all back 10X. Couldn't stand either of those fakes their primes, glad to see them getting smacked down for hanging on too long.

"Fakes"? I can understand enjoying seeing both of these guys who love to huff and puff when things are going well getting some payback, but neither are fakes. Great players on the downside.

I said the Nets and Knicks would suck before the season so I'm not sad at all. I'm going to add this to my GM resume'. Hopefully Gores will call me soon. I'll work for 1/4 what Joe gets.

 this forum board is bipolar. We lose one game, let's make a trade ASAP!! We win another, YEAH we're gonna make the 4th seed!!! hahaha. I'm biting my tongue and sticking to my early projection. I'm looking at a bottom seed Playoff berth. I just hope it's the 6th seed. ANYTHING but Miami or Indiana! I think outside those two, we have a great shot to get to the second round! If Hawks come out as the third (Bulls more likely to), we have a good shot to win.

congrats guys, we're no longer the worst defensive team in the league! ranked 27th... slightly above average offensively, too.

These potential "Franchise Players" 1. aren't a sure thing, 2. aren't day 1 nba ready. There still going to go through rookie growing pains. i think Parker is probably the only player that can make the immediate transition. All this to say, tanking means we'll set ourselves back another 3 years, which this franchise can't afford, Joe D can't afford, Gore investment wise isn't attempting and i personally would quit watching. Tanking is the exact opposite of what we need to do.

I like Jennings he's a work in progress here but he's trying to "play the right way". He's just hurt by our complete lack of shooters. Josh Smith was a terrible signing - he's a PF and Monroe was already here as a PF - one of them is going to have to go, and given Smoove just signed on here I have come to accept that Moose will likely be moved within the next year.

Jennings for the first time is trying to be a pg rather than a scorer, which is taking quite a bit of transition time, however his assist numbers are quite impressive. As soon as his shot starts falling, he's going to be a pretty interesting player to watch. Smith is not a terrible signing as i believe we could still move him , as well as the fact it provides us insurance if Moose goes else where. He allows us quite a bit of flexibility on and off the court. Smiths problem is that he's trying to be a player that he's not, which isn't what we signed him for. Too many times he's popin on the PnR, instead of going to the hoop which is where he's most effective. I don't think that's necessarily because of the position he plays but rather Smith trying to prove a point he can't.

i still think we can trade him if needed, and if we retain him and make the playoffs, either him off the bench or in starting line up is going to cause quite a bit of havoc for opposing teams. Its a matter of Smith figuring it out and adjusting. which is whats going on.

I didn't say we tank - quite the opposite. I said other teams will tank but we can't given our pick and Dumars situation, so we could take advantage of tankers at the trade deadline to improve while they look to "cut salary".

We can only trade Smith if he was cool with it. Say he signed here to get his money but would rather be elsewhere where he could play PF. I think there could be potential for a three team deal with Houston where Smith goes to Houston, Asik goes to a third team and this third team sends us a true scoring SF with range. This would be the best solution for us I think.

Unless we're absolutely committed to re-signing Moose at any cost (including making him our first and only max player), I don't see a scenario in which we can cut ties with Smith this season. We need him as a fallback at PF should Moose leave.

Though to be fair, I'm also generally against trading Josh Smith. I still think he's too athletic and talented to cast off this quickly. Additionally, it's bad PR for future free agent pursuits as it calls into question our loyalty and long term vision.

That last paragraph was a great point, and it's what I have been thinking for awhile now. Houston wasn't able to sign Josh after Dwight for cap reasons, at least probably not to the amount Josh got from us. They also didn't want to give up on Asik but rather keep him and have him backup Dwight(not knowing he'd ask out), so a s&t wasn't done even though it made sense for both parties. I think Joe's thinking all alone was to acquire talent to try to improve the team in the interim and once December 15 hits, all bets are off. Then we can look for guys that actually fit together by using the assets we have.

It wouldn't shock me if Joe signed Josh knowing fully that it was a greater chance he'd trade him than keep him.

I didn't watch the Sunday game (didn't even know we played). Pistonpowered.com recap pointed out Stuckey was showing Lawrence Frank what he could do when not spotting up and shooting 3s.

I just saw this, lol...... I know Stuckey is a guy who says supportive/nice things about other people, but this tweet can't be real.
