Re: Knicks-Related Trade "THOUGHTS" Thread
Why would we want D Rose on the books when it doesn't even take contact for him to be injured?

What's the alternative? The Knicks are not a franchise that does a full rebuild, you know that.

Literally everything is the alternative to that
That is like trading real assets for Amare now, but with 3 more years on his deal

Amare has degenerative knees. D Rose has really bad luck. There is a difference. D Rose will still have all of his cartilage in the knee he just injured, so while he probably won't be MVP D Rose anymore, I can see him being a great second option to Melo. He will likely have to change his play style, but with Melo next to him, it would probably be an easier transition than being on the Bulls.

Going into any trade with a player who had 2 non-contact knee injuries is a no-no, on top of a bunch of other injuries. Especially at his price tag.

Assuming the Knicks will throw crazy money at Melo, who would you pair with him? There is no one out there that is viable right now.

No doubt he's an elite scorer but a true superstar plays both end of the floor and also makes their teammates better. Melo is not an elite defender and has a game that only makes himself look good.
He's not an elite defender but his defense is good enough and much more consistent this year outside of a few lapses he's had
As far as making his teammates better he's creating shots for guys, its not his job to knock them down too.
You're only saying this because we're losing to be honest, its quite obvious
Melo is a True NBA Superstar anyone who says otherwise has an agenda
True Superstar?

Until he can show us he can carry a team deep into the playoffs...he's nothing but just a star in this league.
'TRUE' superstar...stop. Just stop.

Would you guys trade Felton for Deng
Would have to get another player for the Salaries to match up but Chi needs a PG, I'd like to get rid of Felton.
Ideally Felton/JR for Deng. I think Chicago would bite not sure if Dolan would want to part with 2 of his mainstays at his Barbaques.

Because Deng and Chicago FO are on Bad Terms cause of what happened during the playoffs ... Deng has already said he his leaving.
Chicago needs to get something back in return for Deng.
If Thibs got Nate Robinson to be a Viable/Effective player ... I think they would think the same can be done with JR. Hinrich can't play PG for 48 minutes so thats were Felton comes into play.
Felton and JR actually have good contracts and wouldn't hurt Chicago's 2015 plan if they have one.

So instead of losing games with Deng expiring, they would rather lost with Felton/JR while taking on a guaranteed 21 million dollars in contracts while Deng would simply vanish from the cap?
I think not.
At the very least you would have to package Shump to get Deng and I still don't think Chicago is interested.

Check my sig.
1) a defensive Center. a second scorer.Gasol may be available if Memphis bombs, and I think they will. West is too good, and they won't spend good money on a legit outside threat. But more likely to trade Zbo who doesn't fit here.(ofcourse Tyson will hold he fort down.)
2)A forward to protect melo. A bigger better rebounding F than MWP who can hit the 3, gaurd PF's and SF's. I picked Thad b/c he fits the description, is good, young, and is available cuz sixers won't pay.
3)shooters to surround these three. not alot of cash for these.
if we are going to win a championship w/Melo, it's a 3 year window and I believe this is a winning philosophy we actually saw work last year. You may not agree w/my players, but this is a winning philosophy, with Woody, Stan, or Thibs.

Just because they started out slow doesnt negate the fact that Felton and Jr smith both have 2 of the best contracts in the league for there production.

Greent font?
If this is the case, we should flip them for lottery picks, not Deng.

This trade works:
NYK gets Nene, D-Will and Vasely
BKN gets Tyson, Ariza, Felton, Beal
WAS gets Amare, Shump, Terry and Evans

Michael Jordon may have been the best basketball player in history, but he couldn't have won six NBA titles without a team.

How do you get Gasol again? He's Memphis' best player. ZBo is coming off the books and may leave, not Gasol

Gasol is technically available. However, in really real life, the only way he lands here is if he demands a trade here.

Im not saying they are good enough for Deng or lottery picks dude... just saying they have much more value then they get credit for and 1 of those reasons is because there contracts are pretty reasonable thats all
